I think Mtl and Winnipeg could be trade partners.
Mtl is looking for a defenceman with size. Byfuglien would certainly fit that bill. Also, he was playing for chicago when Bergevin was there.
Winnipeg is looking for a center. Plekanec is probably available.
Prospect or pick could be added to sweeten the deal. |

How do jets fans feel about Evander Kane for Ennis+Stafford/Leino+1st round pick? Is that a trade you would do? How do you feel about the value |

For Buff or Kane, Montreal offers any combination of prospects not currently with the team (Bealieu would be our top prospect), Plekanec, 1sts, Bourque, Desharnais, Eller, Diaz
Depending on what you're after, I'm sure something could be worked out.
That said, if MB is actually all about character and trading away people he questions, Kane or Buff don't fit the bill... |

Love these threads, because I'm such a homer and totally overvalue my players... I suck at the trade game. BUT, having said that...
Paarjavi & 1st for Buff
No Buffalo, we don't want Vanek. Ever.
No Edmonton, you cannot have Bogo. Ever. |

Obviously because that's so heavily in EDM's favor, hence why Pete brought it up and mocked it. |

The Kings wouldn't do Byfuglien for Richards. Dean Lombardi and Darryl Sutter both believe in being "strong down the center," and pulling the trigger on this would mean that LA would be short a center. Plus, Stoll only has two years left on his contract, and hasn't really proven that he can be more than a 3rd line center anyway.
The only way that this would work out at all for LA is if they moved Jeff Carter to center from LW, and put Byfuglien on RW or D. However, since Toffoli and Frattin both only have experience on the right side, this leaves the Kings with 4 players that play RW to fill out their entire 2nd line (Toffoli, Frattin, Carter, Byfuglien). It just doesn't make sense. If they wanted him to play defense, they would need him to fill in the Willie Mitchell/Rob Scuderi type role alongside Doughty or Voynov. That means they would want him to be the defensive minded defenseman of the pair, so that Voynov or Doughty can focus more on offense. While a big body, Byfuglien's main asset is that he can contribute offensively, which isn't really what the Kings are looking for. They need a defensive minded 3-4 defenseman.
If you told me Byfuglien for Carter, I'd be more inclined to listen, but as a Kings fan, I'd be hesitant to make that trade, as Carter led the low-scoring Kings in goals by a wide margin last year, and is signed to a reasonable contract for the next decade. Byfuglien doesn't really make sense on the Kings blue line, as we already have filled our budget with high-salary, offensive-minded defenseman, and are looking for a steady, responsible blue-liner that will allow Voynov and Doughty to do their thing. |

If Nill got Seguin (plus parts) for Eriksson (plus parts), then Chevy should have offered Kane (plus parts) Jets need a Center like Seguin. Not sure what Chevy's plan is, but its no wonder they signed everyone to 5 year commitments on season tickets. CHEVY.........WAKE UP!!!!! |
