Word is Grabo was (only) bought out because Toronto has an option for their number 1C and needed the space. Thinking Bozak is signed as 3C with Kadri as 2C

If we picked him up off the wavers would that would mean we have him for 4 years at 5.5 mill and we wouldn't have to convince him to sign here?

Yes my understanding is he has to clear waivers prior to being free agent, at 4 mil a year and being exactly what the Flames need I would have no idea why they wouldn't pick him from waivers.

It would be 5.5 a yr. Bigger gamble there. I still think it may be worth the risk, as otherwise, he may get scooped up by a more attractive team as a free agent. 4m would be much better.
