It wouldn't have taken a genius to figure out that 10 teams scheme, and the proof of that is I was mentioning that as soon as MacT made his comments about Horcoff.

So it wouldn't surprise me if that's what he was doing.

Is it truly rumoured that that is the case though, or does it just make too much sense to be patently false?

I gotta agree with you on this one clouts. I dissagree with you about the draft but this not buying out of horcoff is brutal. We can't have him in Edmonton next year we do defenitly not want him here in edmonton as the captain. I'd say sending him to the minors and then buying him out next year might happen but we don't want him at OKC getting into the heads of our young prospects. Maybe try and flip him for a worse contract like malones but alas probably not. Malone is the better player.

Call me crazy, but I don't think there's that much in there that turns this into a Luongo situation. Chiarelli just told Seguin to start acting like a pro and his been shopped hard for two weeks. I don't know if there will be a Luongo situation there either. Same deal with Wilson calling out Kadri or the like. Some of these situations come to a head, many don't. Penner didn't last two months after team criticism became public; I'm pretty sure we were talking about Hemsky's imminent departure four years ago after wienerly comments.

One last thing: If we don't find a 3C at least as good as Horcoff, we'll be in the basement again. I've been saying this all along: the problem hasn't been that Horcoff isn't gone yet, it's that there's no initiative to replace him yet.

I agree. Just cut ties and buy him out. He's worthless on the market with that cap hit and we don't need him in the locker room as a distraction. Even if he goes on waivers, we don't need another Souray situation in the minors

He checked out of Edmonton years ago, it really doesn't matter if he can be replaced or not. He is a big part of the culture of losing ,IMO of course.
