wow, you're dreaming. I hope you are being sadly sarcastic because the Canucks are the laughing stock of the entire country right about now.

How much more offense does your team need? Nurse was the right selection for you guys.

Regarding Nichushkin the KHL isn't an overall threat to the NHL but it is a threat to steal Russian players from the NHL.

If you don't overpay your Russian guys after their entry level deal expires the KHL will and many of the Russians are quite happy to get paid big money in their home country. Who could really blame them?

Cloutier, you should have taken another day before writing your blog. It's like you had a temper tantrum and broke your favorite toy and tomorrow you'll wish you didn't.

It's hard to go against pedigree and "athlete in the blood". Nurse has championship running through his veins and I'll bet you are on to something when you talk about interviewing well. I like the looks of this kid.

I would never have said that you hate Nurse.

I don't think you liked Nurse, and I think you like the Oilers D prospect potential more than the average fan.
In my opinion, you might also overestimate how much more gamebreaking talent we need up front.
Lastly, I resent any implication - either implicit or explicit - that taking a dman at 7th makes no sense or is idiotic. People are of course allowed to have their own (perfectly reasonable) opinions, and they're probably over-rejoicing because you over-decried them.

Worst draft I've watched for the Oilers in a long time. Man did MacT ever fall on his face. Even when shown a little opportunity.....he blew it! See - giving away second round picks - and not grabbing the next available goalie when the one you wanted was taken and the chance was there Jarry or Comrie! Holy Sh*t......MacGregor and Mactavish are stupid!

Klimchuk was a nice save to get. I wasn't too 'thrilled' with the Emile pick but he's bigger than Shinkaruk which is a plus. Curious, where the rumor is sourced from?

I thought it was a great draft for the Flames. Monahan is a beast, he'll be your captain one day. Everyone around here in MTL was pumped up about Poirier and wanted him a few picks later so that pick also looks good.

That Feaster wasn't the only one considering picking Emile at 22. So it wasn't extremely egregious.

Great draft picks in 1st round. Brutal return on Schneider...but maybe that's not Gillis' fault. You can only trade him for what's on the table.

I could see Gaudreau + being in play, but then again, I don't see them pulling off Seguin anymore.

Also, Torts is completely the wrong guy to coach all of those little sissies. Canucks won't even make the post season next year. Every other team in the conference is improving considerably. Canucks...a total, ugly, messy, train wreck. They should change the logo to a crashing train.

Man were you banging your head all day because you did not like the Oilers moves/lack of moves. There is no way you would have done better for Neideritter based on the twenty some untouchables you have... The one prospect you could have traded for him was maybe Klefbom and he is untouchable.


Absolutely nothing wrong with the Klimchuck pick by Calgary.... He may be a bust who knows but he definitely was not a reach and he is a hometown boy...
