They will be paying him for EVER. thank the league for nixing the trade. I think it would of helped both teams if they would of allowed it.

I am absolutely shocked, and I was wrong in that I didn't think they would do this. I wish I could say I applaud this decision but I can't. We have a HUGE hole at the #2 center now.

This puts a bullseye on Yzerman. He had to be the one who pushed for this. As one of his biggest supporters I respect his accomplishments, but when you make a move like this it better produce results

It's the right move... and I told you so.

Hope the Canucks try to reunite him with Torts.

It will hurt short term, but it is absolutely the right move for the long haul. They need to buy out Malone too.

Also, give Marty the 'C' that he should have been wearing this whole time.

I would guess..
50% chance Vinny ends up in Montreal, 50% for rest of the NHL - combined!

not having to trade Stamkos cause you can't afford the cap hit is a pretty good result...

just saying.

Rangers (BFF Richards is there),
Toronto (will pay big bucks for a C),
Vancouver or
Montreal.

I didn't think they'd do it this year. I figured that next year was more likely. Yzerman needs a young 2C now. There's a big hole. He's made his mark on this franchise. Now it's his time to make things happen for the better.

I don't know whether they'll give it to Marty or give it to Stamkos.

I'm guessing it's Stammer. As much as Marty deserves it, Stamkos will be around for longer than him.

Yes, he must be anxious to move his wife and 2-3 kids (not sure).
