If Dion is traded, I would like to get a Dman back, possibly in another trade who can eat a lot of minutes. I'm not a Phaneuf fan but I do know he is an important part of the team

Only deal would potentially be Stasny for Phaneuf....Skinner is wishful thinking

This. Not a huge Phaneuf fan either but I can't imagine our blueline without him right now, as pathetic as that may be. Maybe in a few more years if Holzer, Reilly etc. have come to fruition, but not right now.

I would ask for Gardnier+ for Stastny if I am Colorado, granted I would also be willing to hold onto a good amount of Stastny's cap if the leafs offered enough. However after watching the playoffs Phanuef wouldn't be my target as a developing Avs team.

Carolina also has a TON of money invested between a few players so Phanuefs contract might be a little rich for their blood, however the need is there.

This all depends on what is involved. With Letang, you get a better offensive beast. But Dion, I feel, has a better defensive game which is already lacking.

Who do you think pairs with Letang? How does this improve the "defense"?

Thats a cancer, he needs to go! Ps... why would you want Stastny and his $6.5 mill for minimal points, I dont think he is much better than Bozak and smaller too! We need a big man on the #1 line!

maybe they only believe it would be phaneuf going back, but it might actually be gardiner. letang paired with phaneuf would be pretty sweet. would suck to lose gardiner, but letang is still young.

There are at least four teams that could have significant interest in Phaneuf.

I don't think it could ever happen for this same reason. We ice a D core of Letang, Gardiner, Rielly, Franson.....we would have to win every game 8-7 and Reimer and Bernier would both be in straight jackets.
