Yandle or Edler but the price would be so high don't know if it would be worth it.

Bill what are you feelings on an Alex pietrangelo offer sheet I know it would most likely be matched but do you think the blues would be willing to trade him and I have heard most likely just bull but the preds may be willing to trade weber this summer what do you think??

I voted for none. Build thru the draft and use free agency to fill holes.

Either player would be a great addition.

I want them to stay away from the "big move" trades, and try to build this team from the bottom up. Draft better, be more patient in developing players, and stop throwing away talent to get the guy that would put this team over the top. IMO, this team is nowhere near the point where one player is going to put them over the top.

I voted Bernier because of the cap recapture provision in the new CBA makes me leery of the Bryz contract. I'm not overly enamored with the free agent options - Backstrom (Vokoun II), Mason (no thanks), etc. Hiller, I really don't have an interest in using assets for a guy who will be an UFA after next season and has had marginal success in the playoffs. Halak is intriguing, but I'm not even sure he is available. Bobby Lu would be a great compliment, but even if/when he is bought out, I expect his price to be over $4 million on a multi-year deal. I'm a little skeptical.

Bernier to me makes the most sense at this point if the assets given up are what is rumored. His sample size is small, but pretty successful. Also, I have read nothing to suggest Bernier has sulked about his situation with the Kings. Basically, his work ethic hasn't never been questioned, which Mason does have in his past (I like Mason btw in the small sample with the Flyers).

Why are there still Shea Weber rumors? You don't commit $25M to your captain for 48 games and then ship him out...unless Crosby is coming back in return.

Personally, I don't see a trade to be made. Draft Pulock/Ristolainen, let the young core continue to play, and pray that for once, the team isn't ravaged by injuries.

RYAN PULOCK!!! Unless Restoliem is there. But take the best guy. I think Ryan P. is ready to be NHL soon and can QB the PP. At 6'1 211 he already has the body. Reports say his skating may not be the fastest but can make up with it with Hockey IQ. Restoliem seems to be the total package but his numbers offensively aren't like Pulock's. I doubt Nurse slips. I'm still not sure about him though, and we don't need his uncle around trying to tell the Flyers what to do.

He shouldn't be feeling comfortable in the GM chair that's for sure.

The player that comes to mind for me is Eric Johnson, Dman in Colorado. Hasn't lived up to all the hype but may be becomes available if the Ave 's take jones.....
If the Ave's draft Nathan Mackinnon ( sp) then perhaps it's time the flyers consider moving Couturier and their first for the # 2.... Or perhaps some other offer that will get Seth Jones to Philly.
Other wise I really like the type of game Darnell Nurse would bring to Philly ....not sure he's there at 11, so if they liked him they may have to move up 3 spots... Big mean, and mobile, with some upside offensively.....

With who they should trade for, I say J. Bernier and end this goalie carousel. Have him and Mason for years to come and Stolarz. We can get B. Ryan later or throw all the money at N. Horton. We need Bryz out of here with his contract.

dealing for anyone of ryan (26) Yandle (26) or Bernier (24), would be fine & would depend on the packages going the other way, it's not like they are dealing young core players, (and the first round pick), for old washed up guys, these players are still young & will be productive for many years & can also be used to build around along with Giroux Simmonds Voracek etc.

I would like to see them give Mason a shot, I know his last 3 years have been a nightmare, & it's thinking with your heart (the last 7 games of the season), & not your head, but he's at the right age as well, (25), where he can continue to grow with this team, plus the extra element of his puck moving ability is something we haven't had since, well, Hextall.
As well, CBA-ing Bryzgalov gives us the space to possibly improve in one of the other areas, (Ryan or Yandle).

Edit. Another thought on this. In Mason's 3 down seasons in Columbus after he won rookie of the year he still produced .90% save percentages. I know this isn't the sole factor, but save % is a pretty good indicator of a goalies performance, as mostly soft goals & tremendous saves have a way of usually balancing out.
We're paying our starter almost 6$million cap hit for the same results.

Just need to send Bryz packing. I'm fine if the Flyers decide to go with Mason. They can always look to add another goalie at the deadline if it doesn't work out.

My thoughts:

1. Buy out Bryz
2. Sign Emery
3. Trade for Edler (age, cap hit, years make the most sense) but don't give up the farm.
4. DON'T trade the #11 pick (unless they are moving up)

Fixing the defense is gonna cost the Flyers. They can't keep drafting forwards and falling in love with them. They gotta give up quality to get quality.

I voted none, because I'd like to see them stand pat, more or less. I want Bryz gone and Briere gone, and go after modest additions to replace them.

I do think that they have yet another wild summer.

None. Although I am open to a Read for Bernier deal, despite not being crazy about it. I'd perfer to Buyout Bryz, sign a cheap vet, re-up Read and draft Pulock or Ristolianen.

If anyone seriously thinks this team needs to trade for Bobby Ryan at this time then I have no doubt in my mind those people dont have a clue about building a successful, well rounded team.

They do have some quality on defense. The far bigger problem is how badly they play team defense. Play better team defense and their defense is more than adequate.

i'm torn between voting bernier or none.

i wouldn't hate having two young goalies with potential... one of em has to pan out, right??
i think matt read will and should look for his payday as UFA. with his late entrance to the NHL he has a much shorter window to make his $, and i can't imagine why he wouldn't take it.

Like your list but I am going to add to it by saying trying to trade pieces of a expensive and crappy d line....I wouldnt mind them dealing Coburn,Mez, and grossman. I am not saying these guys are awful but they are overpaid and the back line needs to be put back together...you got kimmo for one more year now add streit, schenn maybe you could pick a dman somewhere down the line and i say give laurdisen a spot and go from there....will save you cap dollars and coburn might actually fetch a return
