Solid depth pickup. Could be a perfect 3C for us... |

Maybe we are trading away Stajan and/or Backlund? |

Stajan or Reinhart seem to be slotting in there right now. |

I think Backlund has a higher ceiling than 3C.
Stajan is a 3C you're right, but I don't see him being here after this season, hopefully by the trade deadline.
Knight fills a gap though, big time.
Edit:
Next year it's shaping up like:
1. Backlund
2. Stajan
3. Knight
4. Reinhart |

Hopefully Backlund is getting re-signed. Stajan is a useful stop-gap for this coming season, but might get moved near the deadline to a team that needs faceoff help. |

Bouma and Jones provide some competition there too (although we need to somehow fill the right side too, so maybe a couple guys shift that way). |

@TSNBobMcKenzie: Not clear yet whether Corban Knight becomes UFA on July 1st or 5th but won't matter - agreed to terms on 2-yr entry level deal with CGY. |

@TSNBobMcKenzie: Battle for Knight's rights came down to CGY and EDM. The High River, Alta., native opted for the Flames over the Oilers. Plays centre.
Like him already... |

For a rebuild, I'm thinking this.
1. Adam Henrique(cuz we have so much cap now, we can offer sheet him and (frank) the Devil)
2. Barkov/Monohan/Makinnon
3. Knight
4. Reinhart
Backlund will get hurt early again, and Stajan he can be the extra center if we don't trade him. |

Lol you're just going to give up on Backlund cause he is going to get hurt?
Realistically I can see Reinhart in the AHL for a full year next year. |

I like Henrique, but I don't want to risk losing our 1st next year... there's a very strong chance it could be top 3. |

I think so too. He'll play 20 games or so as a call-up due to injuries, but the bulk of the season will be down in the A playing big minutes in all situations. |

Nah....actually I think he will be OK next season. I could see him getting us something back at the trade deadline as well |

Backlund is injury prone. Every year it seams (I have a two year memory span). |

Nope. Feaster said publicly that we won't have any compliance buyouts. We're not going to be up against the cap for a few years here, and he's still a useful player. Works hard, sets a good example for the kids. |
