Yes, Cooke is worth the trouble. He is of need to resign. Matt Cooke proves he is a good hockey player when he stays away from the garbage. God knows he is a very good penalty killer. I really liked what he did with Neal and Malkin in game 4. I'm not saying he is a top two line guy, but he showed me enough to believe he could do it.

This is a weak crop of free agents and there is no one on the market that does what he does. I don't think there will be much of a market on him based on his history. He could be signed for what he makes now with a small increase - maybe.

I think you throw something at Minny to see if you can get the rights to Clutterbuck. If it doesn't stick, you focus on Cooke. Clutterbuck has the potential to be your next Kunitz.

Have to wonder if Glass had shown anything as far as skill if he would be looked at as the cheaper replacement for Cooke. As it stands, Glass is horrible and Cooke needs to be re-signed. If they hope to compete with the likes of Boston going forward, they need more guys like Cooke.

He also proposed a system that would fine the teams of suspended players to act as a deterrent, which is more than mostly anybody else has provided on the subject.

-Matt Cooke doesn't deserve to be in the NHL
-It almost was or should be the Kansas City Penguins
-Bettman rigged the draft so the Pens would get Crosby
-The only reason the Pens are good now is because they sucked for so long and got so many top draft picks
-Bettman had a hand in the Pens winning the Cup in 2009
