Yes. Absolutely, a much better all around player than Bozak. Not to mention he wants to play for the Leafs, as noted a couple years ago when he would only waive his NTC to go to Toronto, even when they weren't contenders.

Bozak is a 3rd line though that's the difference. Weiss is actually a good playmaker. Who did he have on Florida? Bozak plays with Kessel and posts mediocre numbers. Rather have Weiss than Bozak. We need to trade Grabo and then sign Boyd Gordon for faceoffs.

i think people forget hes a free agent cause he plays for detroit and they barely ever lose players

Bozak is not a 2nd liner, a 3rd liner at best who is being used in ways he's not supposed to be. For the past 3 years, all we heard was Bozak sucks, now suddenly after a half a season, he's irreplaceable, a real cog in the lineup. Give me a break. Bozak is a 2 million dollar player realistically, Weiss is a 4 million dollar player realistically. Weiss is more capable of holding down a 1st line, and then the 2nd line once we move Grabo, and Kadri progresses into a #1.

Weiss may not be any better than Bozak after his injuries, Stay away, This reminds me of the Tim Connolly deal, bring in someone who can maybe play with Kessel. Stupid.

Weiss sucks, and bozak isn't a 3rd liner. Doesn't fit the bill.

Weiss is a decent 2nd liner on a poor team who is playing 1st line.

Bozak is a mediocre 2nd liner on a poor team who is playing on the 1st line.


I want nothing to do with weiss (he's goingt o be more overpaid than bozak) and at least we know bozak fits here.

I think he's more of a product of the Detroit system, great players to play with, and great coaching. I don't see his success translation onto other teams.

IF Weiss didn't just have a forgettable season requiring wrist surgery I'd think about it. But he has Connolly written all over him.

Perhaps you are confused.... I'm not infavor of either as #1.... neither a remotely close to that level and and would struggle to be considered a 2nd liner on a playoff team.

As a 2nd liner, if that's what we're comparing them at, Weiss is the better player. More complete, better statistically, and he won't come as expensive as everybody thinks. Hell, I'd rather have him then Grabovski too. He's going to sign at below 5 million, probably 4.5, he wants to play for the Leafs only, he had an off season last year, not exactly able to ask for the moon, this situation isn't even comparable to Connolly. Weiss has always been at the forefront of the Panthers, Connolly disappears, and has always been in the background.

He's a better option than Weiss...

yea thats for sure. 66 pts in 81 games a season ago, didn't play amazing this year so thhe price tag wouldnt be to much
