Congratulations to St. Louis.
Reto Suri is and intruging prospect.
I'm confident that Bowness will help our defense core.
Lets see if the baby Bolts can perform another legendary run. |

More then likely we won't be diving into defensive UFA so my question is.... Who of these 4 will make the team?
Mark Barberio- would like to see him use his offensive skill on our blue line, but his first games weren't exactly show stoppers.
Keith Aulie- has the most NHL experience of all, but many times was caught VERY flat footed against smaller and faster guys.
Dimitri Korobov- him paired with Radko Gudas (who is already written in on our Blueline) like in the AHL could put ALOT more opposition on IR.
Ondrej Sustr- the big guy did well in his brief stint with the big club, but some AHL seasoning will do him wonders.
I don't see Yzerman blowing a ton of money on decent defensemen, so unless we get a great deal on a quality stay-at-home, we're faulked. |

sure, id be happy with any top 5 pick this year
the fact is that you really can't go wrong with any high pick this year and its a great time to be a part of the top 3
with that said i do realize teams are going to try to fill whatever position they need first, but if its not available i mean you cant go wrong even picking a player that doesnt fill your gaps, just a chance to add a great player for years |

Oilers have needed a big two way centre for years. We have rnh but he isnt big. There is one at the top of the draft that would be best player available and fit our needs at the 4 or 5 spot. I hope Mac t realizes that and makes a move to get him. |

Barkov would be the best fit for the Oilers. I really, really, really, really, really like him. As much as I want Drouin, Barkov intrigues me more and more each time I check up on him. |

although barberio is lighting it the hell up in the AHL, maybe cooper can work his defensive game to be better and that guy would be a machine |

IMO Ondrej Palat has earned a shot at a top 6 spot. He has been lights out the best player in the playoffs. Yes it's the AHL, but has been absolute gold since his stint with the big club. Perhaps a taste is what he needed to push him to this point. |

We are so INCREDIBILY screwed over UFA defense. Why do these teams insist on throwing around redicluious amounts of money for defensemen. We don't have a choice now, we have to just develop and hope for the best. |

Not really we have about 6 mil with Ohlund on LITR. Trade Malone for draft picks and sign a Dman.bring Sustr along as the seventh DMan. Brewer can stay or go just as long as he's on the 3rd pairing . He doesn't have the legs anymore. So Hedman/Salo, Carle/Gudas, Brewer / Aulie? New Dman, Sustr. New system to play the D zone and stable goaltending will help tremendously. Having our forwards come back like we see in the playoffs on other teams means defense first. No hanging out in center ice anymore. |

More then likely, we will have to buy Malone out. Sustr won't be the the 7th man, if its anyone it will be Barberio or maybe Korobov. |

I think it could be Sustr, his size alone is Chara like and he is doing real well in AHL. He is not 18, much older and could surprise. |

I don't see any way that Sustr's the seven guy unless he has an unbelievable camp. Based on what I've seen (and what others are saying), he needs another year of seasoning. He has so many great qualities. It's of the utmost importance that the team doesn't rush his development. |
