Ty Anderson: Horton doubt puts pressure on bottom-six

IMO if Horton can't play the series is lost, this is not 2011 where Seguin came in to fill out the roster. Looking at Caron, Pandalfo, or Soderberg may be serviceable against some teams but Chicago is far too good.

If Soderberg has to play it needs to be on the LW, I could care less that his natural position is center. He is not ready for the defensive zone responsibilities of an NHL center, he struggled with it at LW.

Lastly, the Penguins (who appearantly cant step out of the spotlight for more than a couple days) are on a campaign to let everyone know Chara punched Crosby in the jaw. What I don't understand is why the medical staff would let Crosby take his protection off if getting punched would cause him injury given that this is hockey and people get punched in fights and scrums.

Hate to use injury as a reason for not being successful, but ...if Horton misses to much time, we could be in a lota trouble.

Let's go Bruins!!

i agree, its hockey, fights happen and getting punched in the face happens, and they can come up with all the excuses they want, bruins were the better team and they deseved to win as they played like they wanted to, and game 1 was a great game, hoping to see another one tonight, go hawks

If you can light a fire under Seguin and he starts burying them, you guys still have a great chance. Seguin has one of the best releases in the game, but he needs to go to the dirty areas more often. If he gets a greasy one in front of the net, might boost his confidence.

I was an awesome game, its really nice to see Hawks fans not be obnoxious like most(but not all of them) of the Leafs, Rags and Pens fans were. Cant wait for game 2. Go Bruins!

Hawks fan here,

As a fan of hockey you never want to see a player injured. That being said Nathan Horton is a heck of a hockey player and even playing through what he has been in the playoffs deserves recognition. The B's have always been my favorite East coast team and will always be, I really like the style of hockey you guys play, to me that IS hockey. Game 1 was for the books and I am looking forward to watching game 2!

Original six respect!

Seguin played that way last year vs the Caps, and I thought he was on his way to being the type of player you described. Maybe playing in Switzerland during the lockout caused him to play different this year, or his ego is so big that he won't change his game in the offensive zone. I guess one area of improvement for Seguin these playoffs is his defensive zone play and back check.

Elliot Friedeman said yesterday on our sports radio station that there may have been some "cheat" in his game developed over in Switzerland. I can't remember if he said he thought or Bruins management thought that there was still some leftover bad habits.

Possible the bad habits creeped in, but I always go back to the pre-draft scouting reports on Seguin that said he had all the skills/ability but needed to figure out how to use them in a way that works in the NHL. I think he's still working through that process.

Well, I for one love the Bruins (though I might get to hating them for just a little while over the next week or so). I really did not want to see this Final because I don't want to root against the Bruins. Whatever happens, win or lose for the Blackhawks, I'll be back rooting for Boston (I suppose, in the interest of full disclosure, I did live on the North Shore for some tim and would love to be back).

Here's to another good game and, yes, the Blackhawks winning.

And scary that they're thinking Horton at 70 or 80 or whatever percentage health he's in is better than anything else they have

Bruins better start playing or they gonna be down 2-0 in the series, depending way too much on Tuukka here.

Every group has their trolls and idiots, but no one beats the Nucks as far as those categories go. Not all of them, but a whole lotta them. The L.A. fans were decent. I could only imagine how the Pens fans were before the series.
