not only faulk, but so as shattenkirk and pietrangelo's new contracts too.

Josi makes more than John Carlson.

The $4 mil cap hit sounds high at first blush, but the Preds bought the first few years of free agency. A short term deal would have been cheaper (lower cap hit) but then the Preds would be looking at a Suter (lose an asset for nothing) or Weber (monster contract with huge up front money) scenario.

I do a pretty decent job of reading stuff here there and everywhere and do not even recall his name coming up, so my best guess is that you have your "noise" that I didn't hear at all mixed up with someone else - as pointed out, maybe McBain?

Maybe it was just noise and wishful thinking then on Faulk.
