That would suck but gotta keep rolling in more Marlies and young guys to take that roll. It will hurt on the PK. However, if he is going to play 3rd line, he needs to be able to put the puck in the net a few more times.

love the guy - but no need to over pay to keep him in TO. Let him walk if that's what it is about.

His departure opens up more opportunity for Nonis to sign more upgrades...

as disgusting as it sounds, that's probably 10-11 million on the open market. all of which will eventually be third liners at best at some point during their new contracts.

Carter Ashton can do the same job as Komarov. Good checker with an edge and about the same hands.

Another possibility for sure. I guess the point is Komarov was a good asset but very replaceable.

not sure either of those guys will be 5th in the league in hits.

komarovs role is easily filled.. but he does it better than most.

remember one of them.. 176 times.

they're not of the flashier version.. but he's a tank attacking defenseman in the corners, which is where vital turnovers are generated.

i can see his play being missed.

he's more a guy who just finishes his checks than a big open-ice hitter a la Emelin. course his knee is in one piece...

Its easy to think Komarov can be replaced, but I dont think itd be as easy as most conclude.

Its hard to find a hitting machine, pest, solid PK player with speed.
