I just mentioned that, don't bother with Dee. She's not capable. I saw some of the mock drafts had us picking Domi and some on here said he'd be gone by the time we picked yet I saw him listed at 26 on ISS? I honestly haven't been paying that much attention this year to what was going on so I'm kind of out of the loop.

Kind of a crapshoot this year where we pick, it's such a deep year and when you get to the middle of the first, guys have these kids ranked everywhere. There's so many options.

Nikita Zadorov (D) is my first choice if he's available. Pronman has him ranked 16th (his rankings are based purely on who he feels is best, not where teams are picking). Big (6'5'' 221lb) mean, nasty defenseman. Plays for London in OHL before someone bites my head off about drafting Russians. Imagine a shutdown pair of him and Pedan driving opposing forwards insane

Max Domi (C) has a sickening amount of skill, but stands a little small at 5'9''

Bo Horvat (C) is a complete player. Can score, plays physical, defensively adept, plays PP/PK, good on the draw. We may have this in Nelson, but never hurts to have a slew of these guys. He's got 2C written all over him.

Ryan Pulock (D) is an offensively gifted defensemen. Absolutely massive shot from the point. When I say massive I mean he's been clocked at over 100mph in skills competitions. Could be a great PP QB. Also, we may have a similar player in Donovan.

Adam Erne (LW) is a big power forward with blazing speed. Good finisher, kills d-men driving to the net with his high-end speed. Might be nice to hedge any concerns we had with Nino.

Kerby Rychel (LW) is similar to Erne, but he's a notably weaker skater. He also has notably more offensive skill. Pronman has him ranked low (44) due to defensive concerns (compared to Erne who's ranked 18)

Here's the list of Pronman's top 250 ranked prospects. Currently he has detailed descriptions of each player through #60. Keep in mind (not you specifically, but everyone) that Corey Pronman's opinion is, obviously, not the end-all-be-all of what these kids are. Some have Rychel ranked inside the top 20, etc... I just personally prefer (most) of his thoughts over some others.

FYI, Erne is from Connecticut and played some youth hockey around the area.

I'd like to pick up Santini (D) in the third round, because he's from Brewster and played a lot of youth hockey around here.

You sold me on Zadarov and also you being the writer of the Draft Blog! . These kids sound good but through out the years they always seem too. From what I've read(which is little) there doesn't seem to be the huge drop off of talent outside the top 5. Hopefully that holds true?

How silly of me not to include such information...

Zadorov had a puppy as a child, but tragically it died at the age of 11 in an unfortunate skeet shooting accident. To this day Zadorov has a soft spot for living puppies.

Domi once finger-painted a pretty good picture of an octopus in 3rd grade. Unfortunately his father punched it in half.

Bo Horvat has a world class daffodil garden and routinely competes on the competitive flower growing circuit in the off-season.

Ryan Pulock has *THE BEST* recipe for swedish meatballs.

Adam Erne adorably starred on an episode of Sesame Street as a child.

Kerby Rychel holds an annual bake sale to raise money that is donated to research towards a cure for tortoise AIDS.

Again, going on Pronman's word here:

Corey Pronman @coreypronman
@ngreenberg I see a top tier of about 16 players with top line/pairing potential.

So, going by his list, Zadorov would be the cutoff for elite potential.

If he plays with an edge and keeps it up at the NHL level at 6'5" that sounds like just what this team needs. I'm thinking Snow goes with a dman again even after last year.

I have (wet) dreams of him and Pedan playing together.

My ultimate dream would be to trade up and get the 6'3'' RW Nichushkin to play wing for Johnny

Too bad that will never happen.

If Zadarov falls, yes Snow should take him, but don't see this kid falling past Flyers

Like Erne and other too....

how about this kid Michael McCarron 6'5" 220lbs RW

Projected to be drafted in 2013 NHL Draft: 2nd Round,

Additional Information

Defensive minded forward with great size, jump, and punch. An intense physical competitor who leaves an impression so you know you have played against him. Very good straight-liner balanced skater who must tighten his pivots so he can turn with play. Good vision. Does an exceptional job of winning pucks but needs to improve his tight quarters work and become stronger on the puck when carrying. Displays very good effort without the puck with his reach, and back-checks hard. This is a big bodied North-South forward with very good skill set, and can play downright nasty and well. He is getting co-ordinated with his growing body, he has to be viewed as long-term pick with significant upside. Nonetheless, he seems to be rocketing up the draft boards. Committed to Michigan. He was selected to the roster for the World Junior Under-18 Tournament in April.

Well, as I'm sure you know, we don't have a 2nd round pick and I'm not reaching for a project pick at #15. There are too many far better options.
