The Flames would be better off to keep all their 1st rounders in a deep draft & simply rebuild.
Move Cammy & Tanguay for more picks/prospects and fill the cupboards in the organization.
There's no need to panic & Murray Edwards should shut his mouth about wanting to be in the playoffs next year - that talk will only pressure Feaster into doing something stupid, something the Flames can ill afford to do.
This is an important time for the organization but making flash decisions just because the owner wants the team in the playoffs asap, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do & if Feaster had any balls, he'd tell Edwards that.
Murray Edwards is a control freak, all he cares about is the bottom line, money & he knows he makes more if the team is in the post-season however owners like that usually see their teams go down in Flames(no pun intended) |

Nope...dove right into the new job and its twice the workload as my previous role. But like anything else, once you get the hang of it you can better manage your time |

Perhaps....but I have a feeling Feaster wants "quicker" improvements and moving a draft pick or two for an NHL ready prospect isnt always a bad thing. Of course, it will all depend on who is available with said picks in this deep draft....so goes both ways I suppose. Regardless, I expect Feaster to make moves this summer and not sit back a la Edmonton model |

That's all fine & well, as long as those moves are made for the right reasons, not because Murray Edwards is holding a gun to Feaster's head.
With 3 first rounders in a deep draft though, you can add 3 quality prospects that many feel will kick-start the rebuild quicker than most just because of the talent available not only in round 1 but 2 as well.
And the Flames need to take Monahan at 6, not Lindholm. They need size up the middle the kid is a two-way centre as well with scoring ability.
I know all kinds of rumors have the Flames loving this kid but that's one thing, picking him is another. |

I still like the idea of moving cammi and retaining salary for picks. Maybe get another pick in the top 10. The flames are in a good position with the cap going down. Looking forward to the next month in flames land. |

I do think the flames should move on from Cammi and Tanguay. They should probably wait until the trade deadline to trade Cammi. I could see him fetching a 1st round pick at deadline.
At the STH a couple of weeks ago Feaster said that Tanguay did not want to be part of a rebuild. Feaster also said that part of the reason for the rebuild was that Tanguay's play was not good enough. Sounds like Feaster wants to trade him but i am not sure what Tanguay can get? |

What would it take for calgary to get a second pick in the top 10-15 and does anyone think that it's a good move? Or move the 6th pick and move into the top 2-3 |

Not Trolling, but a serious question:
Are Calgary fans pissed that Feaster didn't take the bruins deal seeing they would have gotten Bartkoski and Koko? After seeing how well Bart can play and would have likely stepped right into the line up from opening day next season? |

It's not that Feaster didn't take the deal...he did!! Iggy is the one who turned it down. Nothing Feaster could do, Iggy had that right. |

I thought Iggy had a list of teams he would consider from? Or am i wrong on that point?
i never really followed too closely after it broke off.... I was just surprised cause didn't seem like a good pkg coming back to CGY from PIT |

No , because it wasn't up to Feaste. Iginla held the cards and he picked Pittsburgh. Feaster was just along for the ride. He had absolutely zero leverage either, hence the questionable return. |

I think Feaster was under the impression that he could trade Iggy to any one of the teams on the list and Iggy would be okay with it.... but at the end of the day Iggy got to choose. Feaster wanted the Boston deal, thus all the confusion when it went down. |

Colin Dambrauskas: A few thoughts on - Karri Ramo, Flames offseason, Playoffs - Colin Dambrauskas
I hope we go into next year with Ramo & Berra. Lets see what these guys can do while we establish our younger new core.
I too agree that we need to keep our 1st rounders as well. I would part with the later 2 if we can get Edmontons or NJ picks. I would actually rather part with Gio or Wideman or Glencross if that could secure us the Carolina or Nashville picks. This team needs as many high end darts as possible to establish a highend new core. But this whole 1st round sounds good & we have a lot of empty cupboards to restock. |

Feaster screwed up here because it was only verbal, not a written agreement from Iginla. If Iginla submitted a written agreement that he would accept a trade to X Y Z then Feaster would have the right to move to any of those three teams despite any reservations Iginla may have had. But, he didnt...it was all verbal. |
