Why not go for 4th or 5th instead. That Russian winger looks like he could be the best player of the draft. Barakov wouldn't be too awful either and either trades possibly wouldn't require Adam H

There are several other strong options at 37 especially in forwards with size that actually use it like Hudson Fasching, Marko Dano, Tyler Hill, Jacob de la Rose, Michael McCarron or Émile Poirier come to mind.


That said, Jarry would be a fine pick anyways, especially with Roy and Bunz laying some early eggs in their pro experiences. Only issues are that he was the back-up on one of the top-5 teams in the CHL with the best defense in the entire CHL. If he had been the starter and did what he did this year consistently he'd be a first rounder, so there is some means for hesitation.

I hate goalies at the draft. They are like a woman on PMS. One day they look amazing and you have such a bright future. The next you want to get as far away from them as possible.

Apparently we are looking at some Austrian that was in the SEL this year. Which honestly I think is a better option given our track record.

Tarasenko "falls" to 7-9 due to Russian factor, otherwise he'd be top-3!

In real life he falls to 16th because of the Russian factor.

I expect the same thing for Nichushkin especially considering the only thing he has over both Tarasenko and Kuznetsov at the same age is his amazing speed at 6'4 otherwise he's not as talented as either at the same age.

Before somebody gets into it saying Nichushkin is coming to NA next year, he said he would come to the NHL, nothing else if you read the article in the original Russian, nothing about AHL/ECHL/CHL, so if he doesn't make the team or you give him his spot for free he'll likely enjoy his 5 mil with Moskva.
