Many of these suggestions make NO sense. How about teams that actually NEED a goalie? The Flames, Oilers, and Wild immediately come to mind with the Devils being a sleeper (gotta plan for life after Marty).

Miller wont get a top 5 pick. Those teams just wont want to part with it.

Came here to say just this. I've been hearing Miller to the Wild rumors since trade deadline day when Pominville came over. Can't believe the Wild were left off this list.

Philadelphia:
There is so much we don't know about the Flyers off-season plans, but I do know that as the season wound down I kept hearing Ryan Miller's name being mentioned. Would he come to Philly and stay in the East? Could the Sabres trade him to one of their most hated rivals? Would the Flyers part with a player like Brayden Schenn to make a deal happen?

Miller to the Wild makes a ton of sense. I don't know if Minnesota has the pieces necessary to bring him, but he would be a great fit there. They have a hole in goal and Wild fans would absolutely love him. There's also something fitting about having an American man the crease for the Minnesota hockey team.

Would Minny even have cap room for this?

Over on the Buffalo page I said the Blues were interested. I look for some sort of a package deal with one of our highly touted prospect( Jaskin/Schwartz) a top 6 fwd(Perron/ Bergland) and a goalie going back to Buf IF it happens. and to STL Miller and one of either Vanek/Hogdson and maybe a pick.

Man, I hope not. I am not in the least bit interested in bringing Miller in.

Miller and Vanek/Hodgson aren't going anywhere in the same package. Look at what Buffalo got for Gaustad, Roy, Pomminville, Regeir, Leopold individually. Darcy is going to want big things for those guys individually, let alone paired.

I can't see St Louis making another deal for a goalie. Halak is your guy, if he can stay healthy, and Elliott has proven to be a solid #2 guy who can even play like a #1. Add in Jake Allen who acquitted himself well in limited duty, and I think it would be a huge mistake for the Blues to cash in assets for a position they already have relatively well-stocked.

Again, I go back to my initial comment.....I think if the Sabres trade Miller they stand to get the best deal from a team that actually has a NEED at the goalie position. Buff isn't going to give Miller away, and I don't think teams like St Louis (for whom Miller would be a luxury) will meet the asking price.....or at least they shouldn't be willing to.

I like the Halak-Elliot duo I think you guys could do a lot worse. If I were the blues management I would be more focused on trying to get a top-line scorer. Shattenkirk and J bo are both perfect assets to go after that.

Schwartz, berglund and a goalie for miller and Hodgson is certainly intriguing but I'm not sure regier wants to deal Hodgson.

Colorado - only if we get rid of vanek too in a different deal we could make this one and get stastny in a miller deal. I would prefer E. Johnson but you obviously cant get people you want like Landeskog or other great players for a goalie over the hill

Chicago - If they lose out and blame Crawford I could see them going for a FA goalie or lower goalie then miller unless they want to give up shaw and stalberg or something like that

Phoenix - makes a ton of sense for Miller. Unless samuelsson is coming back there is not many other players i would personally want though

Philly - well take b schenn but i dont think theyd seperate the brothers. maybe sean c. instead?

Minny - Maybe they could do that but they do not have the cap room. Theyd prolly have to give up clutterbuck and coyle and a pick

st. louis - maybe jayden scwartz and another prospect or pick for him (Darcy loves this team)

san jose - Just no.

Okay let's see the cap is going down sooo......

Colorado: I'm guessing a rebuild of sorts is in order,no way they commit to Miller

Chicago:Crawford seems to do the job at under 4 million per....

St-Louis:Halak ,Elliot,Allen......to many passangers on that team

Pheonix:They are broke so go figure

Philly:........well this is flyersbuzz

We are not trading you Miller AND Vanek/Hodgson for that package. That is a TERRIBLE deal for Buffalo.

Other way around ... Flames will most likely start season with no legit starter and give a few of their goalies a shot . They are not in a spot anytime soon to go after a miller ... Just because a team doesn't have a legit goalie doesn't mean they are in the running for a Ryan miller ... These things have to make sense

Having said this I feel the oil makes more sense only because they might want a more experienced goalie moving forward , but they may just stay with dubby seeing as he had decent numbers last year

I dont think Miller is the difference maker for any team in the NHL. His upside is he's usually healthy and good for 70 games a season. But he isnt that much better than any other good goalie you've heard of. And there isn't a team out there that is a "goalie away" . Philly is the closest but Darcy hates trading in the conference.

If Miller was still "a legit #1 star goalie", Buffalo wouldn't be looking to trade him.

No he's staying a sabre

I'd rather trade enroth while his value is this high coming off gold. We have plenty of potential future starters (hackett, makorov)
