He will never see a minute of ice time on Long Island. We already have Boulton up in the press box for about 55 games per season, and with the grit and toughness that Martin and McDonald bring, this is clearly just a depth signing for Bridgeport.

reposting since SOMEONE has to suddenly add two posts a day!

MM should have been fired at the 2000 draft the minute he traded Luongo and Jokinen for Parrish and Kvasha. I get your point, but part of the reason MM was kept in place was probably because Wang knew nothing about hockey and probably knew of nobody else to bring in to replace Milbury before the move was actually made. Wang came into the sport a complete novice, he knew nothing and nobody.

Of all the bad trades MM made, and there were tons of them, the follies on draft day 2000 were deplorable and inexcusable. At least rational arguments can be made to justify some of the other deals (budget constraints, need for impact players, etc.) but the moves on draft day 2000 were the result of horribly bad talent evaluation and impatience.

I cursed the moment I got home from Virginia that day and had a message from my brother (A Flyer fan) on my machine...it was just him laughing. THat's when I found out Luongo was dealt away. I was devastated. That said, I do understand what Milbury's train of thought was at that time..which I've posted before, but I'll do again because I love the look of my own arial font

Milbury was very big on following the blueprint of the New Jersey Devils. He wanted to change the team over to a full out trap team. The thing that made Jersey's trapping better than other teams was Broduer's ability to move the puck. When you clog up the neutral zone, other teams must dump the puck to establish a forecheck. If you have a fast athletic goaltender capable of passing the puck, he can retrieve the dump in and create transitiion.
Luongo for all the wonderful things he was projected to be was one of the worst goalies there were at actually handling the puck. So Milbury, in his own insane sort of way, dealt away a franchise goaltender, for what he thought was another franchise goaltender capable of playing in the only system that was consistently winniing during the clutch and grab era. Unfortunately for MM, the rule changes of 2004 changed the league and that vision went to crap along with DP's hip.

If there is one head scratcher all season long it was the lack of ice time for the Gremlin... i dont get it.. i don't think he deserves JT time... but he deserves more then he gets.

Yep...and further than that...the report from Staple was that Cappy and his staff seriously considered benching Grabs after game 1 of the playoffs.

As well as he played in the series, it's amazing to me that Okposo never sat in the press box yet one down game for Grabner warrants consideration for him to miss a playoff game.

if he plays like he did in games 2-6 of the playoffs his ice time will be fine..thats the way he needs to play..complete dedication to both ends..moulson should look at that for an example

Just a quick hit from the last blog and josh Bailey..... I remember losing my mind that year (2008) when Garth started to trade down and i have to say it was quite the draft now that we look back.
NHL regulars: Josh Bailey, Travis Hamonic, David Ullstrom, Matt Martin and Kevin Poulin. Matt Donovan and Aaron Ness as prospects right now....have to say good job Garth.

30 goals scorers are hard to find...you'll know in January if Moulson will still be an Islander long term...

Jack Capuano is clueless and does not know how to use his guys. He usually just keeps to the same line up day in and day out. When he switched lines in the playoffs I almost had a heart attack. I am sure he was up all night pacing back and forth when he had a thought of changing the lines
