Never mind the note to Gillis.......note needs to go to Aquilini to get rid of Gillis. New coach is just hamstrung with incompetent GM.

How else will they be able to buy out Luongo, Ballard, and Booth?

I'd imagine if teams have no issue selling tickets there would be an increase. It's pretty normal to raise them a few bucks from something like 50-to-52 dollars.

I read somewhere (unsure if it's true) that the cheapest ticket at a Canucks game is $85. that's a little high and honestly, i wouldn't pay that for the crap that was on the ice this season.

$85 for a tiny seat with some fat drunk wiener nearby?? No thanks. Best seat is in front of the big screen...

Well, they have been reporting 15-25 million in profits over the past few years, so i'm guessing the team isn't short on cash.

I've heard as high as $30M. Someone wrote an article about taking Di Pietro's contract of Wang. Interesting idea. We buy out Di Pietro and let him go. Send Luongo to the Island

Yah i know what you mean.

i was kind of shocked to hear the prices were 85 bucks a game.

The Flames tickets I get through work are about 55 bucks and they are decent seats.

Now that is for the Flames, bet whether there is a whole lot of difference between the two teams this season is debatable.

Still, taking the family to the game shouldn't cost $500

So the cap goes down 6 million , we better raise ticket prices .
Very odd indeed , as crap as the flames were this season it was a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch then past years , who knows maybe ticket prices in van are going up because AV is being fired and they are going to play all out offense next year .... It could happen

For me it was.

- team only trying for a 1/3 of the games
- Only winning one of the worst divisions by 4 points
- getting swept by the Sharks
- avg-to-below avg performance from pretty well everyone

I don't know, how do you feel Canucks fans?

I can see your point as far a disappointing I guess , but the Canucks have had a lot of crappy seasons in the early years

That's one theory

Fire AV- pay his two remaining years
Buyout two players- big bucks

But the thing about that theory is, I'm guessing they have already asked season ticket holders to re-up without giving them indication that anything is going to be any different.

Easily one of the worst seasons.
1. Lockout
2. Indifferent play
3. Frustrating coaching
4. Being told the team was "all in" for the playoffs
5. Knocked out of the playoffs again in the first round. The team didn't learn a damn thing from last years playoff disaster. Probably the most frustrating part for me.

Yah, but I was never that disappointed because I didn't expect a whole lot out of those teams and they always worked hard.

We knew they were going to lose more than they were going to win. If they won, it was pretty much gravy.

Thanks ! and I think it was the Sabres also rising prices obviously they are in a rebuild and didn't even make the playoffs this year so that is a pretty big slap in the face telling fans to be patient through a rebuild and pay more money lol

They spent more money than any team in the NHL this year so that isn't a shocker.

IMO, the Sabres were a huge reason there was a lockout. they are one of the smallest markets and they don't make much money in the first place. Seems logical to spend over 32 million on Leino, Ehrhoff, Myers and Miller.

i believe because of those front-loaded deals they likely got hit harder than any NHL team this season.

Last year, I was pretty pissed about the ticket price increase.

I scaled back the quality of my IcePak seats and the price barely changed.

I'm more inclined to sell more of my tickets now to justify paying what I'll need to pay to see the games I really want to see. It's a smart business move, but it's a load of crap given the on-ice product.

Do they not do well attendance wise though I thought they had a larger fan base but maybe that's just because the Devils have such a small one which I never got other then the teams so close to them they have done more then enough to gain fans from outside Jersey as I am not from there and I realise I cant help their attendance but even with Canadians cheering for an American team it seems nj still has a really small fan base which personally I don't understand

I sell mine on prime seat club less than that and I have 2nd row uppers. Usually around $60 per seat.
