IMO, he gets a multi yr deal with Hackett as the backup. IMO Darcy will get those 2 deals done first.

How multi are we talking, 2-3 or longer? Gut feeling says first signing is Hodgson so they don't have to deal with offer sheet speculation but I can see your idea happening too.

Everyone on this team should be talked about as trade bait, if you are rebuilding or retooling what ever they see happening all area's should be looked at.

In my view he moves Miller and reaches out to Vanek on an extension.
