Also,

8) I'd bet on two things after next season:

1) Andrei Markov will no longer be a part of the Montreal Canadiens.

2) Tomas Plekanec will no longer be a part of the Montreal Canadiens

Well, in his defense, Bergevin was assistant-GM in Chicago

Speaking of Chicago, they could use a 2nd center like Plekanec.

This team has a long way to go before they are "like" the hawks

As far as Kristo being the next Bolland, you are either underestimating Bolland or overestimating Kristo.

Dave Bolland isn't exactly a game breaker...

If Kristo can't be a 3rd liner, then by all means, just let him go in a trade.

40-50 points on the third line, can hit, can skate does whatever you ask of him, not scared of getting hit.

1) I don't think Bergevin has much choice. Re-building Boston-style would take forever and would be a major over-haul since we have almost no players that fit that style. Almost.

2) What this note said to me was: The Habs need ALOT of work on their back-end players, way more than anywhere else. I agree. Subban, Emelin and Tinordi are the only ones that are here long term, imo.

3) Elite talent up front. Not sure we have a ton outside of Galchenyuk but we do have some complimentary pieces if they all progress well. (Eller, Pacioretty, Gallagher is ideally the future's second line)

4) No way to build a team that is a good match-up 100% of the time, not anymore anyways.

5) Agreed, add to that, I want to see Eller's progression over more than half a season. Don't want to trade a proven player and find out that the one you kept had his only great half-season of his career. To me, it's unlikely to be the case with Eller, but better safe than sorry.

6) David Desharnais will eventually be traded. Sadly, not for much in return.

7) Barring injury, I think Galchenyuk gets to play top 6 at wing next year. It's a smart plan. Up his minutes, then once he's used to that, make room for him at center and add on the responsabilities of being a center. Why lump both ice-time and responsabilities at him now? He'll still see some time as 3rd center if/when injuries occur but that won't be the norm, I think.

8) I'd bet on two things after next season:

1) Andrei Markov will no longer be a part of the Montreal Canadiens. Definitely trade bait at next years deadline, more than likely along with Gionta.

2) Tomas Plekanec will no longer be a part of the Montreal Canadiens. As states above, depends on Eller.

9) Draft needs to focus on D for at least another season. I've already said my piece on Eller. It's him or Plekanec for the foreseeable future, imo.

10) I hope you are right, I have a hard time seeing that in the kids game. I'm speaking mostly about what I've heard, and also keeping in mind that we sort of have that player in Gallagher. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

The last time they tried to focus on D, they drafted Fisher instead of Giroux.

More like 30 points. But yes he's not afraid to play physical.
