though I agree, its more of a supporting cast that they will need as they continue to introduce younger players. Cant fill up a team of young guys without a few legitimate experienced guys to show them the ropes. |

Iginla? Do you think management will really try to bring him back next year? I thought he sold his house already. Perhaps he wants to remain a penguin for a couple more years.. |

Looks like that rebuild is starting off great. Losing assets for nothing. I am so glad Feaster is your GM |

i think bozak would be a great fit for the flames, but they need a solid veteran too, they should try to move up in the draft and get a franchise player |

Riberio Roy? So I guess the playoffs is the goal.
You'll love Riberio though, he is hated by most officials in the league. |

It's not like he's going to another NHL team. A guy leaving for the KHL isn't really within the control of a GM. And I don't know that Cervenka holds all that much value anyway.

I don't understand why the Flames would be looking at a bunch of 30+ year olds, at this point. I think it's a terrible idea. Bozak may make more sense, but even he will be into his 30s by the time the Flames are ready to contend. Not even he is ideal. Unless they can get a couple of these guys on one year deals, and deal them at the deadline. |

Leafs will re-sign Bozak out of necessity. |

i dont' think losing him will have any impact on cgy moving forward. the guy's game was clearly not cut out for the NHL. i compare it to ottawa losing filatov to the KHL.
i also agree with most that the only player on that list of FA's that makes sense for calgary is bozak. that being said, i think he'll want a lot of money (relatively speaking) but once away from kessel, he wont' produce at nearly teh same level. if calgary can get him for like 3.5, wouldn't be so bad, but 4+, he's not worth it. and besides, if he's willing to sign for 3.5, he'll be wearing a leaf jersey next year. |

not bringing semin back at 7+ mil (and then signing him to a longterm extension for that same type of money) was the ABSOLUTE BEST offseason move the caps made. |

The only way I see them letting Bozak walk is if they can sign someone like Ribeiro. I think if they sign Ribeiro, though, they still try to re-sign Bozak. Buy out Komisarek, and maybe trade Liles, to make room. There are so many dmen in the Leafs system coming up in the next few years, I'm not sure why they signed Liles long term. Holzer is fringe at this point. Blacker isn’t far behind. Kostka is a potential, and looked good at times, terrible at others. It was his first shot though. What if Paul Ranger decides he wants back in the NHL? Then there is Percy, Rielly, Finn, in a couple of years. There is a ridiculous amount of depth in the Leafs organization, in terms of Dmen, both current and working their way through. They need high end forwards. They have none. And one, bonafide, A1 Dman. |
