The Islanders are playing a hell of a series. They look like the experienced team right now.

Great to see Hamonic clock Malkin right at the end of the game. Typifies this team. They may win, they may lose, but they ain't taking any poop from that team.

A lot of bush league poop after we got the lead. Vokoun will start Game 5. Fleury's a head trip right now.

Johnny T, Martin, Cizikas, Okposo, Hamonic, I could go right down the line. What an easy team to root for.

Great job by the crowd too. Never let up with the noise and the chanting.

One thing, Nabby has to play like he did the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period. He hasn't let in a lot of softies, but he hasn't stood on his head once yet.

Obviously, either Martinek or Hickey is gonna have to step up. Money is on Marty to start Game 5, but if it is Hickey, I feel like he could do the job. I'd rather see Martinek though, just for the veteran presence and his play down the stretch (when he played) was pretty solid.

Great team to root for Potvin. Great crowd as well. Loved Hammer giving it to Malkin. No matter what happens in this series things are only going to get a lot better for this team.

Yep Nabby needs to keep the last 10 minutes going into the next game. I have to think Radek will get the start in game 5. I also feel Hickey could get the job done.

What's the odds Morrow gets a call from Shanny for repeatedly slamming Hamonic's head into the ice with about 7 minutes left? Right in front of the linesman, too. What the (frank)? Not even a penalty.

I'm all for rough play but that's way over the line. I doubt Morrow get anything.

refs really put their whistles away towards the end. both teams had penalties that should have been called.

great game. the way most penguins players and fans are acting, you'd think we're down 3-1.

still lots of hockey to be played.

I called pens in 6 before this all started... standing by my prediction.

islanders are a bad matchup for the pens. speed is not something we are good at defending. good news, if we take you down and boston takes Toronto down, that pretty much eliminates all the speedy teams from the playoffs.

You could very easily be down 3-1.

You gotta admit, that was pretty (frank)ing egregious, what Morrow did. Like Ses said, I'm all for putting the whistles down in the 3rd period of a close game, but that was ridiculous.
Great series so far, hope it stays that way.

They want to talk about the head injury problem in this sport, well, repeatedly slamming another player's head to the ice is a good way to concuss someone.

I was being facetious, there's no way Morrow even gets fined for it.

Very true. The Isles made adjustments after game 1 that the Pens haven't been able to counter. Terrible goaltending doesn't help. I thought the Isles would be a test going in, they are even exceeding what I thought. If I cheered for any other team I would be pulling for you like everyone else.

If you do go on to eliminate us, when the anger subsides, I would pull for you. If the Isles lose the next 2 games 10-0 I will still be extremely impressed with their growth this season.

Everyone can complain about officiating, favoritism...whatever, the fact is this has been a very entertaining series and the Isles have proven they belong. It's frustrating to me because I saw this last year and it didn't end well. But none of that takes away from what NY is doing on the ice.

With all that said the Pens will get their poop together, they just have to.

I'd still rather see that than have a a penalty decide a game, any day of the year.

Yeah, that's the one negative about last night, for us....if we don't see Vokoun in game 5, Bylsma should look for something else to do for a living. I was kind of hoping to sneak out with the upset before that became blatantly obvious, but there's no chance of that after Fleury's performance of DiPietro-ic proportions in last night's game.

Pretty sure that was cizikas and he was right in front of the ref not the linesman.

Agreed, even though Cizikas was holding the stick, uncalled for.
Dee, why isn't this blog about the Nabakov dive that led the the Islander's 2nd goal?
Also, did Malkin get a fighting major? If so, does that give Kunitz a 1-gamer as a 3rd man in?

I agree with you! I was at the game last night! It was the best game I have been to especially in a playoff. The best game I was to was Toronto vs Islanders playoff games series in 2001. I feel last night game tops it all! All I can say is....Let's go Islanders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He absolutely dove. Not to be a homer but there isn't a goaltender in the league that does'nt. They all dive, every single freaking tender in the league. With that said the whole team was doing quite a bit of diving last night to the point where it was bothering me. As far as Cizikas holding the stick there have been about 40 of those blown going both ways for someone to have another player's head and continually smash it into the ice repeatedly in front of the ref as he's watching, skating slowly towards them is absurd. Forget about calling a penalty at that point you should be trying to break that up before someone gets hurt. I cannot believe they did'nt show the replay on that? The crowd was going nuts. I'm all for letting these guys play but that was a little much. Not trying to stir a hornets nest here in any way and I know you are completely unbiased but I was shocked by that. Overall the officiating has been terrible for both teams. Nothing will come of that scrum at the end. Two teams not letting up and the Pens sending a message which I'd expect any team to do.

No matter how this ends up none of us could complain about this series minus the officiating of course. Highly entertaining
