i feel bad for luongo - robz228
I'm wondering if it will be Lu and Kes, in Gillis' office ask to be dealt this offseason.
Kesler has used the word embarassing a lot in the past two weeks. That can't be good. |

Ian, reality over fantasy taking place? Finally!
Edler, Luongo, Ballard, Alberts, Raymond show them to the airport. |

Too much country club was the more or less the headline nine years ago in Toronto. Have fun with that Vancouver. |

You should. He's probably having a more difficult time saving for his familys future, providing them with the best life has to offer now, and is likely faced with retiring beyond age 65. He probably wont even be able to live off his retirement savings.
Guys like you are the exception. Guys like me and Luongo, we have alot more to worry about and a lot more struggles. We appreciate your concern and pity, as well as your all encompassing compassion, but we'll manage. Somehow. |

Those were brutal years. Had to fit under a Cap that lowered spending, an older roster, no young players with any sort of promising NHL future, country club attitude. |

I've been saying it now for the better part of 2+ seasons. AV needs to go. The Canucks are a very undisciplined team and that comes straight from the head coach. Perhaps this is the offseason that this finally happens.
I, however, don't think they should have a complete blow up for this team. |

If they trade Cory now it will be a joke. You dont need a 34 yr goalie. You messed up the situation move on from it and put it in the rear view mirror. If this team needs a rebuild then you need to have the younger goalie not the older one.

Except no one wants Lu's contract, age etc. That doesn't even take into account MG's wanting a healthy reward back for trading Lu. |

If we're talking about the last Leafs team to make the playoffs, these Canucks aren't even in their league. I'll assume you're talking about the first Leafs team coming out of the lockout (who would still probably beat this Canucks team in a series). |

How about we give some credit to the Sharks too?
They've capitalized on Vancouver's lack of discipline and have basically rendered the Canucks powerless. They look faster, more skilled, more determined and have exposed Vancouver as barely having two lines who can sort of compete.
I hoped the Canucks would pushback, but whenever they do the Sharks beat them down again. It's futile now. This season has been a writeoff from the get-go.
Bye bye entire coaching staff. |

If the deals there for Cory you make it, in my opinion.
Lu is fine for another 4-5 years at least. Deal with the problem down the road.

The rumor is that he was willing to give him away right before the deadline but then Nonis wanted him to keep some salary too which Vancouver just isn't in a position to do. I think he's moved off of the "healthy reward" demand. |

You can't release him, he can only be bought out. |

Ian we agree on something!!
Cory should get the Canucks a very nice return - and right now they need younger/skilled players to replenish the pipeline that is drying up.

If Luongo is serious about escaping his contract, he can withhold services, which would allow the Canucks to terminate the deal. But the team would first have to place him on waivers, meaning Luongo would have no input on where he plays and could be claimed for a fee of $125.

Considering Gillis' evaluation of Luongo's worth, I shudder to think of what he'd demand for Schneider. The guy is too arrogant to make a significant trade. |
