Eklund: Those Darned Delay-Of-Game Penalties - Eklund
I really don't understand why they felt the need to make this a penalty, and icing the puck a "no change" situation. Both are for the same purpose. Make the puck over the glass a "no change" situation and d-zone faceoff (naturally), same as Icing. Still creates scoring chances, doesn't create PP's for sake of making more PP's.
Also, get rid of that stupid new hand on the puck penalty on faceoffs. (frank)ing retarded. |

Leave this rule alone. - flamminghead
+1 needs to stay a penalty or teams will use it as often as possible during the playoffs |

Tugging on the left shoulder, Isle's right skate at very least contacting, if not kicking, the back of the Pens right skate; dive? |

I'm far from the conspiracy theorist that thinks the league is fixing games to get the Pens/Crosby deeper in the playoffs, but that sure looks like he basically just sat down to me. He's one of the strongest players in the league and incredibly hard to knock off the puck. Yet come overtime, a little contact with Strait and he suddenly can't stay on his feet. |

we beat you guys 5 on 5. With your star power shouldn't you be scoring on 5 on 5 and not just 5on 3s and fours? |

Completely agree, this rule, giving a team a penalty, is going to lose someone the cup, make it like icing, defensive zone faceoff and no change. |

You do realize strait is an NHL defenceman who is six foot one and two hundred pounds? There is an outside possibility he may lift a weight or two as well. If he cant pull someone down from behind with both hands then he really has everyone fooled into paying him millions to play a strength sport
Aside from all of that if you even put your ONE free hand on someone they call it every time, all year, all playoffs. Even if he didnt go down that was getting callled either way. The amount of butthurtness over this call is amazing to me. |

Nah, they gotta keep that a penalty...If you remember every mother (frank)er was shooting the puck out of play before they created that rule... |

So the penalty is gonna cost someone the cup but the player making the mistake and shooting the puck over the glass isn't gonna cost the team? Good point, while we are at it, all accidental high sticks should not be a penalty as this accident of not controlling ones stick and making contact with a players face is gonna cost someone the cup. After all, if it is just an accident, why make the player responsible for his actions. |

All im saying is from the time were 10, were taught in minor hockey to clear the puck off the glass, i dont see it being worth a penalty. The Rangers lost a game because of this dumb rule. As for "accidental" high sticking, you can not drag player safety into this. Player safety should be the leagues first and foremost priority. |
