So, you'd trade a reasonably priced, top 4 defenseman to move up one whole draft slot?

Want to buy a bridge? Like Coburn or not, that's a really stupid waste of an asset.

- Jsaquella

Continuing the conversation from the last thread, BSH did a pretty neat analysis of the trade value of draft picks in terms picks they've been traded for.

So, by their measure, the guy was saying that Coburn is only worth a 3rd-round draft pick. Which is either really depressing or completely off-base.

So with the Flyers not in this year, who will all of you ladies be cheering for if you are going to be cheering for anyone at all?

i hope boucher and knuble get to dress/play in this game. as you said, this is likely the end of the line for them, and i'm glad to have had such classy combatants in the orange and black. i could see both of them finding roles within the organization eventually, boucher because he's returned to the roost 50 times, and knuble because he's got a sharp mind (not that boucher doesn't) and expresses himself well.

as for this debacle of a season, so happy it's over, finally. it's been pretty much awful from april of last year until now, despite a couple of short winning streaks. as much as i'd like a win, losing in regulation would really be better. let's lock in at #8 and get a top 10 guy.

rooting for the blue jackets the rest of the way. also easy to root for the sens too, with what they've gone through this season.

i know there will be future blogs about the draft etc, but want to thank you Bill for your continued outstanding research, writing, and contribution to all of us who love this team on a daily basis.

onward.

Knuble deserves to be in the lineup, no question. If for some reason they want Rosehill in the lineup, then sit Fedotenko as it is almost a sure bet he won't be back next year.
Also Brian Boucher deserves one last game as a Flyer, it would be a classy move.
While I hope the Flyers play well, for the first time this season I am rooting for them to lose. I would hate to fall out of the top 8 in this draft to get one last meaningless win. I can remember the 91-92 team finishing the season with 8 straight wins; it had no carry over effect into the next season whatsoever.

As far the cup goes, I would be happy with any of the following winning it all:
Columbus-just because it would almost be surreal
Ottawa-Just the fact that they are in is amazing!
Boston-For the city, enough said
or
Vancouver-after all the talk and trade rumors, how funny would it be if Luongo led them to a cup?

Finally, I'm glad this lousy season is finally ending!

I've debated wearing a paper bag over my head at the game tonight, but I have too much pride and love for my team to follow through with it.

A few years back I had a nice chat with Danny after the pre-game skate, near the tunnel. Class act, chatted with us random fans, signed autographs for kids, etc. Sad that this is likely his last game as a Flyer, but necessary to move the club forward.

Knuble, Feds, Boucher, Shelley, Walker, Lilja, Foster... see ya.

Hoping Gagne takes the discount to re-sign for next season.

If you look at the last couple drafts, not a big difference in talent.
