I didn’t see much difference between Dustin Brown’s elbow on Jason Pominville (which resulted in a two-game suspension) and Michael Del Zotto’s reverse elbow on James Neal, which resulted in Neal missing the Pens’ last seven games and no discipline for Del Zotto. - the-mitch-wilsons
Similar, but not the same. The MDZ hit looked more like he was just going to shrug Neal off with his back but the elbow just happened to hit Neal's head. Brown, on the other hand, deliberately put his arm out to fend off Pommer. I don't think either were malicious, but Brown was definitely more of a reckless play than MDZ, and this is coming from a huge Dustin Brown fan (although I'll admit I'm a bit biased AGAINST Neal). I thought 2 games was about right. |

Thanks for your opinion. Brendan Shanahan agrees with you. JT |

I have often wondered where the Flames would be if they hadn't waived players such as J.S Giguere and Martin St. Louis. |

Ya it's a painful thought. But they still wouldn't have a center.
Would have been St. Louis instead of tanguay with iggy.

But between those two they could have stuck someone who could win draws and play a decent two way game. 10 years ago a line of St. Louis-Conroy-Iginla would have been dominant. |

Even further back with trading away Brett Hull. He exploded pretty much right after that. |

At that time, I think it would be savard between. And would have been great.
That was a dark era in Calgary up to 2004. They almost lost their team. Heck they were still trying to get some use out of Rico fata when St. Louis was there.
Probably the worst 1st round pick ever made. Poor drafting is what really got Calgary where it's at since then, phaneuf being the only highlight.
Just happy to see iggy smiling and scoring again. Bummer his 30goal streak ended though |

That trade won them the cup, so tough to call that one.
Back then there were some attitude involved.
Lost a high goal scorer, but he only one a cup himself (legally) |

pens probably could go to the Cup without Malkin
could probably get out of the first without Crosby or Letang or Neal.
ideally we have them all back. |

Don't diss Rico in here, he was one of our best players at one time. |

He would probably be successful there.
Kunitz has shown that even though he is not an elite talent, he makes everybody on the ice with him better with his hard work and complete disregard for his body. |

I wouldn't count on it. Not tonight. Maaaaaybe Saturday. I'd say TK probably sits instead. |

Iginla sold his house in Calgary...That's 1 team he won't be playing for. Perhaps a discussion to stay in Pitt longer is on the table. |
