I can't imagine what is going on in Gillis' head right now (if anything). He must be waivering between:

option 1: walk into my boss' office and ask for $40M to get rid of players, followed by the conversation about how he needs another $40M to sign players to replace those players.... outcome -> fired

option 2: continue to attempt to convince other GM's that Roberto's contract isn't that bad... even though the player has publicly stated his "contract sucks"...

option 3: close eyes, hide in office until the draft.. and find some office underling to blame for the terrible CAP management...

nobody is going to offer him anything for luongo.. not a damn thing.

everyone knows he HAS to move a goalie and if it goes the trade route.. the only goalie gillis will be talking about is schneider.. otherwise.. the rest of the league will just wait for luongo to get bought out.

gillis is proving to be a very incompetent GM.. his team was basically built by Burke and Nonis and the more moves he has made.. the worse they have gotten.

he has mad a couple good moves.. but the success of that team didnt hinge on the moves he has made.. not at all.
