stick a fork in them, there done!! time to let kinkaid play the rest of the games and hopefully do a penguins trick and bag a few games to improve the draft status. hopefully they will use a top 5 to 7 pick on someone who can actually put the puck in the net and doesn't need 3 years at a college to be nhl ready?

5-1-1 is pretty unlikely too.

Looking like Kovy won't even be in the line-up yet in Toronto...

I dunno, Todd. Have you seen the standings? and the schedule?

To get in you're now basically down to two catchable teams in NYI/NYR, and are competing with Whoever comes second in the SE for those two spots, as well. you're three wins back of NYI, and two wins back of NYR, with 7 games to play, and NYR has basically the easiest schedule in the league to close out the year going forward, plus a game in hand.

I expect the rags will be in the playoffs, so that leaves the NYI and the Jets to beat out. Both of which have at least 4 points in the bank on you, and the tiebreaker if you only catch them.

You'd have to go 4-3 and them 1-6, or them 2-5 and you 5-1-1. Not gonna happen, last night was the nail in the coffin.

TG: "Kovalchuk’s shoulder needs “a few more days”, doesn’t expect to go to Toronto for Monday’s game"

Todd would you be able to make a list of prospects who could be available when we are drafting and let us know a bit a bout each one and what they would bring to the Devils ? I think that would be awesome I know you still have faith and I love that maybe you could do this a few blogs fron now just an idea though

Ahh didn't see that

At this point we should just rest him so he can fully heal

We won't be making the playoffs at this rate

The worse part about this losing skid is that every other team below us keeps losing as well, so we are not moving up for the draft. We've been at 10th for some time now.

Actually if we continue to lose we could get to 5th. Edmonton has 39, Buffalo and Nashville have 38, Philly has 37, and Tampa has 36. The Florida and Colorado are tied for first with 32.

I am actually in the few who would love that but our losing streak is at 9 already which I think is a franchise worst you gotta think we will win 3 of our final seven but who knows I am so curious as to what can happen at the draft and off season the draft is in New Jersey as everyone has noted and the last few teams to host the draft have made big splashes hopefully we keep the trend going but by getting a better draft pick not by giving up a first for a star player and also what free agents we might look at and what buy out players we might look to go after I have been saying for a bit now that if a player like Heatley were to be bought out he would be alright to try depending on what you can get him for one would have to think is would be for a pretty reasonable price since he will already be getting paid from his contract he was just bought out from I a just not sure what number everyone would be comfortable with and what he would be I would take a shot on him for 2 years at anywhere from 3.5-4.5 depending on what he would take and that would give Mattau and Boucher 2 years do develop in the AHL also we shouldn't be afraid to take a center at the draft since most centers get converted to wing in the NHL anyways gotta take the best player available unless it's a D then I would say not to unless it is someone who can not be passed up but those are just my thoughts you might feel the same or differently but non the less these are just ideas

Franchise worse losing record is 10. At this point I don't care if we match it and pass it as long as we get a high draft pick.

The only bad thing about us picking high is that the Flyers are also picking high. Kind of like two years ago when they had Columbus' pick and picked Couturier.

Yea at that time I was really mad we passed up Couter but I am really glad we got Larsson and think he will be the better player I think my fav player in this draft would have to be Drouin we will never get him though but guys like Monahan Barkov and Mantha have been growing on me and if we where to for some reason decide to take a D I think the only one I would be ok with is Zadarov but I am against the idea of taking another D with our first round pick
