The Sabre was used extensively (perhaps even "popularized") by the French during the Napoleonic wars. In that sense, that spelling is appropriate.

Interestingly enough, the weapon is of Polish origin, so given Buffalo's (historic) Polish community, the choice of this weapon is quite appropriate.

The Joel Armia experience is likely NOT going to happen in Buffalo this season.

Assat is about to start a new round of playoff games and if they sweep the series, the date listed for game 4 is 4/20, meaining only 2 games would remain for Buffalo after that day, so I don't imagine he'd make the trip over here.

I'm sure my take on the word is swayed by how the team has spelled it, but I've never even considered spelling the word with an er ending...

I like your post tho, especially tying it back to Poland and Buffalo's community.

Holy crap, I had to go to WGR's site to see that. That's crazy. Though, admittedly, I didn't pay attention to much of the game after the first, so I didn't see what happened.

Great post, but, you know, whenever I read a story that starts with "Many people have wondered..." I always wonder, "don't these people have the Internet?!?"
