John, your description of operation in the FO sounds a lot like the Wizard of Oz.

Except when the curtain is pulled back on the Wizard, there's not just one guy there, there's a whole circle jerk of FO fools. I won't describe what they're doing but suffice to say, I'm sure some of my HB brethren will.

At the beginning of the season, who would of thought this would have been the case at the three-quarter pole of play?
The Blues come into town locked in a dogfight with the Wings, Blue Jackets and Predators for their playoff lives.

Commonality? All Central teams, MINUS the 'Hawks...

Too bad management did not feel they needed help.

Even great teams such as Pitts felt they had holes to fill.

How are we any different?

Lets just say that if we get bumped early out of the playoffs I hope a few heads will roll......hey Rocky are you listening.

i'm hoping they'll bring Hayes back up, resign Andrew Brunette for a couple of games and let them play with Handzus as the updated cement line

i think Handzus will be a nice addition and maybe even help us in front of the net on PP where I thought hayes was a bit of an asset

Question: Do the Hawks get any compensation (draft picks) if they lose a player via free agency?

Beating a dead horse....

Stan Bowman said earlier this season that he feels this team can win the Cup as currently constructed. Stan Bowman did very little at the trade deadline to improve this team while other teams that essentialist will be competing for the Cup did make bold moves.

I wish the Hawks could have added a little more grit. But there isn't a trade that makes me mad and say "Wish we got him". I would have liked Brassard but I sure wasn't gonna give up Sharp to doit.... ( much to Ogie's chagrin....)

More than happy to let this record breaking team fight for the cup. To me it's all about getting Crawford as playoff ready as possible.

Based off of your lines, what I would prefer to see for lines instead of his:

BRANDON SAAD JONATHAN TOEWS MARIAN HOSSA
MICHAL HANDZUS DAVE BOLLAND PATRICK KANE
BRYAN BICKELL ANDREW SHAW VIKTOR STALBERG
BRANDON BOLLIG MARCUS KRUGER MICHAL FROLIK

NIKLAS HJALMARSSON DUNCAN KEITH
BRENT SEABROOK NICK LEDDY
MICHAL ROSZIVAL JOHNNY ODUYA

COREY CRAWFORD

would be this:

BRANDON SAAD JONATHAN TOEWS MARIAN HOSSA
ANDREW SHAW DAVE BOLLAND PATRICK KANE
BRYAN BICKELL MARCUS KRUGER VIKTOR STALBERG
BRANDON BOLLIG MICHAL HANDZUS MICHAL FROLIK

NIKLAS HJALMARSSON DUNCAN KEITH
BRENT SEABROOK NICK LEDDY
MICHAL ROSZIVAL JOHNNY ODUYA

COREY CRAWFORD

I would even consider swapping frolik and Shaw

Not bad...but can't see Q breaking up the great chemistry between Bickell/Shaw/Stalberg...

Would like to see Kane as far away from Bolland as possible.

By July 1, if the Hawks cannot sign, make a trade (after the season), or trade his rights, we get zippo.

Edit: this applies to Stalberg UFA.

I'd love to try:

Saad Toews Hossa
Frolik Shaw Kane
Stalberg Bolland Bickell
Kruger Handzues Bollig

I want to see Shaw get a shot at 2C since Bolland hasn't impressed and Frolik (former 20 G man) can keep up with Kaner.

Maybe even flip Bolland to 4C, Kruger to 3C and Handzues to 4W ???

Just my thoughts ...

I like it...my only thing is i WANT Carcillo TRUSTED and in the lineup over Bollig.

Love Bollig, but given the choice...i prefer Car Bomb.

UFA? No. RFA? Yes via an OS not matched, pending on cap hit. It starts at a 3rd rounder and goes all the way up to (4) 1st rounders.

I like the chemistry too, but Shaw seems more productive at wing. This is Q, he likes the line tinkering.

completely agree. And, if this guy is dinged up and is struggling, why don't they give the guy some rest?

Maybe while he's resting he can watch some film on how to win a draw.

Your projected lineup for the Blues is innacurate. Tonight will feature the debut of Jay Bouwmeester on defense.

Pietrangelo BOUWMEESTER
Shattenkirk Leopold
Jackman Polak

How do you like that Defense? The left side of the D has a whole new look since last time Hawks played the Blues.

A slight upgrade over Kris Russel. I'll be at the game tonight.

Agreed. I really think Bolland is going to be a permanent fixture on the 2nd line for the rest of the season. When the playoffs come around, things may be different.

Also, I agree with Philco. Leave the third line alone.
