Jay Bouwmeester appears to be on track to be available for Thursday's game vs. Chicago,
- Chip McCleary

That's certainly good news.

It'll be an interesting call as to who Hitchcock taps on the shoulder for tomorrow's game in goal.

If I were to guess, based on the way he finished the game the other night, I would expect to see Elliot but personally I'd throw the kid into the deep end of the water and see how he responds.

But, I'm almost always wrong on goalie guesses.

And to top it off, Dreger reportedly saying Kiprusoff is going to stay in Calgary. Ungrateful ... doesn't he know he's supposed to take the trade for our benefit, screw his family and his wants and needs?

EVAR!

Pretty humourous to watch TSN's 40 analysts scramble for material on deadline day specials each year though, with less and less happening with each season.

They're promoting the hell out of Ondrait's live blog - which tells you just how desperate they are for anything that might be remotely exciting right now.

ZOMG, A TRADE FINALLY! - involving 2 players you've probably never heard of, except the last name of one of them looks familiar and you'll probably mistake him for the guy actually traded.

It took until just after 12:45 Eastern, but there's the "har har har, we've got a trade - we're swapping our media guy for someone else's media guy" tweet.

At this rate, it might be much more interesting if the entire Sportsnet crew went to the TSN set and the entire TSN crew went to the Sportsnet set for the rest of the coverage.

This is the Worst Trade Dealine EVER

Yesterday, some yoyo blogger predicted that today would be a block buster of a day with the action starting promptly at 8:00am easter...nothing to speak of so far....WORST Trade Deadline EVER.

I'm done witht he Sabres unless they make a BIG, BIG move today like trade Stafford for a bucket of melting ICE...they suck!

What does JBo do about signing Stewart, Shattenkirk, Pietrangelo, etc?

Depends on what ownership is willing to stomach for a payroll in 2013-14 - and I think part of that depends on what the team does down the stretch and in the playoffs this year. In theory, there's room for everyone - but if someone decides they want their money now, that changes things.

I'm pretty sure that he exercises, watches TV, and maybe plays some video games while Armstrong and his team negotiate new deals with those three...

Clear indication that McDonald walks... Likely same with Leopold.

Don't be so sure. With the FA market already thin and likely to get more thin, McDonald could be back on a 1-year deal at something like $1.5M plus incentives. I could even see Leopold brought back, knowing that Redden is definitely gone. But, it's way too early to guess on that kind of stuff because there's 29 other teams who are going to have to make decisions this offseason - and several of them are going to have to do it with cap constraints. It's why I think the period leading up to the draft is going to be an exciting time for roster movement.

Gaborik to CBJ, Pominville to MIN, Bishop to TB, Mason to Phi

Hitch on Bouwmeester: "I think we're looking at this more long-term." -- obviously #stlblues looking past his contract. Want him here beyond

I guess if McD is willing to take a 70% discount, then maybe. I would be fine seeing him walk.

Also, Raffi Torres went for a third. Hmm....

This is pretty good news. Wasn't going to play much more if at all for us.

We basically rented him at a cheap price for a handful of games, and then traded him for a late pick (7th rounder in 2014 per Jeremy Rutherford).

Not bad.

I figured Cole would move. Glad it wasn't him.

Looks like you couldn't have been more wrong concerning this deadline Chip.

Holy crap!!! COnchar and picks for Bishop?? WOW. I guess Bishop must surely suck. Like I said should have traded Elliott at the deadline or in the off season to Tampa Bay and kept Bishop. Boom! Points my way.

Points your way you saw Stewart looking good when I thought he was so-so but healthy looking.

I'm balanced and can admit when I am wrong. Even if Elliott plays as good as he did the last night the rest of the way I wouldn't want to deal with his mental inconsistency.

Armstrong said their were no hockey trades to be made. He should have said none that he liked because I'll be damned if I so far I haven't seen two: The Bishop trade and Brassard trade. So COlumbus fleeces the Rangers in the summer and then the Rangers fleece Columbus. Really a center and others for a winger and some picks? But it's a hockey trade both teams got better.

Lots and lots of trades. Strange season players aging plus a strong draft and from what started as limiting movement in the cap era deadline booms into a crazy turn of players. I wonder if the shortened season will benefit big player movement for teams like the Rangers and Columbus who sit on the outside or edge of the play offs. I think COlumbus's trade is more about the future. They will be able to pick up a good center in the draft. JD really coveted Gaborik since he was in St. Louis at least. Remember him sounding bummed when he failed to pick him up in FA?

I'm dizzy trying to figure out just what happened. How does Lou continue to pay little for some decent talent? Amazing.

There were trade coming out of Phoenix and some of the picks coming back weren't particularly great and that is always strange when you consider the NHL runs Phoenix.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Cole moved during the summer. Perhaps depending on how much the Blues like Leopold.

Remember, during that draft special that was televised, it was Jarmo that had the man-crush on Cole. Would anyone be surprised to see him dealt to Columbus at some point?

I would believe so. Instant size and ability. The kind of player the Blues can use and adds depth. Boom.
