You guys should look at that one guy in Philly.. Jakub Varacek?

lol No but really though, I like Statsny a lot, but that's so many centers up front. Maybe someone could make the transition to wing? The other problem would be that it isn't guaranteed that he resigns after his contract ends :/ It might not be worth it if we only grab him for a year and a half or so, but I love his leadership and 2-way game

I think you should be looking more at gritty type scoring players. The player I would go for would be Brooks Liach or Ryan Malone. Both character guys who play big and can put the puck in the net. If you go for a guy like vanek you are gonna run into the problem that they will want out and your culture is ruined. You have a great team first mentality right now and you dont want to ruin that with superstars.

With Malone injured, and fragile when healthy, I doubt there's much interest there. I also doubt he waives to go to Columbus either way. Apparently he's been rather picky about that sort of thing in the past.

That being said, I do look at the Jackets as potential buyers here at the deadline. Take a chance and go for that playoff spot. At this point it's unlikely that the Jackets fall far enough to end up with one of the great first round picks. Why not take that chance and hopefully make something special happen. At the end of the day, the team can always package one of its three first rounders and move up at the draft if need be.

From my perspective, it's an exciting time to be a Jackets fan. Enjoy, folks!

Lars Eller and Ryan White. Both are young and can help the team.

If it's NY , then Calgary should retain at least half of that salary.

Game Breaker and a Back up with a deep stanley cup resume. Looks like you guys are loading up to be a thorn in teams side this spring.
