The new Recchi. Heard reports on NBC yesterday that the Bruins might be interested in O'Bryne, any truth to that?

Good pickup. Was the only forward available I'd hope to see the Habs pick up (obvious chemistry with Plekanec earlier this year in Czech league play).

First I've heard of it, to be honest, but it wouldn't surprise me. This is the craziest time of year, man, you hear so many different things and you really never know what to believe. I can tell you that the Bruins would love to add a depth defensemen to their NHL roster by tomorrow's deadline, but the price is the thing. They still have the chips to make an impact trade for a d-man, but I'm not sure if PC's gonna make two splashes, so yeah, a guy like O'B makes more sense.

Love this move for Boston. That Iggy fiasco may even turn out to be a blessing in disguise if the Russian kid develops into a top 6 player.

Pierre was the one who was yapping off about it, but then he followed it up with and his inside knowldege of montreal would be helpful if they meet up. Lost credibility after that.

He will help the Bruins for sure.
As much I would of like the Habs to get him, I don't think he would of been able to keep up with the Habs speed.

I am expecting another move from the B's

Someone mentioned Boyle from San Jose. That would be phenomenal. I love how he plays

A question: Am I the only one jaded when it comes to the Bruins adding an outside puck-moving defensemen to the roster? It's just failed so many times that it's scary to think what you lose out on if you sell more pieces to get Streit and he's Kaberle 2.0.

agree. i'd take a solid stay at home bottom pairing. montadork, kaberle, corvo, yuck.

Definitely not, I was a huge proponent of Kaberle before B's got him because thought he was the missing element ... hard to tell if it's the type of player or player himself because he sucked in Carolina and MTL too, so who knows. Same with Wideman, failure here but he still sucked defensively in Washington and haven't really heard anything good about him in Calgary either.

I have been saying for a while now that the Bruins and their fans need to let go of the idea of bringing in a prototypical "puck moving" d-man. I think we've seen enough times that if that player is one dimensional a-la Corvo or Kaberle he simply will not fit in Claude's system. Claude likes bigger, more rugged d-men and the downside to that is, obviously, on the offensive end. But part of building a successful team is giving the coach the players he can get the most out of and clearly Claude can get more out of someone like Boychuk or Seidenberg than Kaberle/Corvo. Chiarelli would be better off accepting this and getting guys Claude can use rather than trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and bring in another one-dimensional "puck-mover" to "fix" the powerplay.

Kaberle led your team's defence in points in the playoffs when you guys won the Cup, hardly a failure in my mind.

Pumped to see Jagr play for you guys!

I like Boyle, but the price will be high for him. Neely was just on 98.5 and said they cant trade a 1st for anyone because of the condition of the 2nd rounder in the Jagr deal. It would have to be a 1st in 2014 for a Boyle trade. I would like the Bruins to hold onto Koko, I think he has the skill sets to break camp with the big club next season.
