Quick update: Gophers on their way to first game upset AGAIN in the NCAA's. Also, the Wild have never swept the Stars in a season series. Jagr is on a 4 game poin/scoring streak (4 goals/3 assists) and Goligoski is on a 4 game point streak (1 goal/3 assists). Lastly, Dallas has not played since Monday against the Wild.

Gophers apparently been caught admring themselves too much. They looked terrible and lazy in the loss against CC, now they're losing to Yale! Too bad really, the best team they've had in years and certainly the best chance they'll have at a National championship for maybe a couple. Oh well, they've been fun to watch this season if nothing else... I digress...

Wild still have a very good chance to extend their win streak tonight if they scratch Gilbert... LOL. No, but if the defense can step up as an entire unit instead of just a 4 man unit, no reason they can't continue on back home with another win.

Offense certainly hasn't been an issue lately and they could have easily added 3 or 4 goals to each of their last couple games if not for bad puck luck on several sure fire scoring opportunities. As long as the offense can keep rolling, Hackett's job should be a bit less stressful than it would have been 4 or 5 weeks ago.

I say the Wild win again, but it should be a bit closer tonight, let's say Wild by 1 in a tight one 4 - 3.

Unless Hackett plays brilliantly, I have the Stars winning this one 6-4 (open net goal at the end of the game).

That's a fair assessment. I'd like to see them carry this into tomorrows game vs LA. I think they'll have their hands full against the Kings, even with Backs in net.

Wild backup goalies seem to be cursed. Hopefully Hackett isn't too rusty tonight, and as much as I'd like to see the streak go on, I'm glad Backstrom is resting up at home for tomorrows game. This game could get ugly, but something tells me they may steal one in Big D tonight... so long as Hackett doesn't completely poop the bed.

These are not the Wild of 10 years ago at all - they actually have some talent now whereas 10 years ago they were a team of pluggers.

Having Koivu, Suter, Parise and Backstrom alone is a massive upgrade - this not Jacques Lemaires Minnesota Wild anymore...

So Goldy and Bad Bucky are going home. Too bad Buckey Beaver wasn't there. Good luck to the Mavs, Cloudy Huskies and the ioSUX.

Hey Brad, how has Charlie Coyle looked out there this season?

Happy to see four former Sea Dogs now getting good NHL ice in Coyle, Huberdeau, Despres, and Hoffman.

Ok boys, did I call it or did I call it? Mersch may have gotten the score right, but in favor of the wrong team. I called a 2 goal win for Dallas and viola! (Wow what a great hockey mind!) Loved the fight that the Wild showed at the end. This Minnesota-Dallas rivalry is going to be EPIC ( and, yes, Norm Green still sucks 20 years later!) Back to Minny and bring on the Stanley Cup Champion Kings!
