I'm excited for making the playoffs (well, most likely) but hope we aren't big buyers at the deadline. If we can add a veteran depth guy with playoff experience and grit for some mid-level prospects that's not so bad...but none of our top prospects or higher draft picks.
We obviously aren't Cup contenders, just build off this success in the off season and go from there.
Good blog. Nonis would be stupid not to be talking to other gms. Even if just to stir the pot. Spot on. Gardiner needs to be shown he needs to preform and liles needs to play. Wish we could land a solid d man to play with dion. That would be fine for this year
I get like a pee shiver when Lupul drops his arms and puffs out his chest after a goal.....my body can't handle his manliness. - BlowMonkey
That was one of the best Leaf goals ever...
Leafs were down... and you could see Lupul picking up the game.. great pass for the Phaneuf smash to tie.. and then it was like I could read his mind.. the leafs having trouble clearing their own zone the rest of the team was limp.. and I could here Lupul.. thinking screw this... let me show them how to clear the zone properly... now let's go all the way.. and slam this puppy...
With Schneider playing amazing, the need for luongo lessons more and more in vancouver! Despite Scrivens and Reimer getting wins, I'm not confident has having them as your "1a, 1b", they need a veteran guy like Luongo. Just hope we dont have to give up our "#1" centre..Bozak...Leafs are already weak in the middle as it is.
Sometimes I wonder how this team would be with a goalie and/or a strong D core. They are tied for 2nd in the league in goals for, yet bottom 8 in goals against. (frank) sakes.

I think the GA will improve we just went through a stretch where we played Pitts twice, Boston 3 times, TB, & the Jets twice.. all teams that can put the biscuit in the basket... hopefully that will improve but like you it would be nice to add a couple more solid defenders...

so you wonder how good they'd be with a significantly upgraded roster?
significantly better, i think.

I think to much is made about the Leafs woes.. they play in the toughest division in the NHL with 4 teams over 40 points.. and even though we get to play them more... Leafs have 42 points at the moment.. two behind Ottawa, 4 behind Boston, and 5 behind the Habs...
But a couple of quality D pieces wouldn't be bad at all...
