"Sideboard: Anyone think that maybe picking up Ryan Miller for his last year of his contract would be a good idea for the Isles?"

Why don't you approach Snow with this one Dee?

I think any quality Vet with 1 yr left or 2, would be a good idea,
or possible trade for a young NHL goalie.......ex: Bernier, Schneider, Bishop, Lehner, Khonobin (BRUINS),

WE need stability in net moving forward, unless/until the kids can handle it...

Agreed. It's possible to be successful with streaky/mediocre goaltending, but you have to be a much better team than the Islanders to do it. I wouldn't mind if Nabby came back, but definitely in more of a "1a" role as a backup that can play just about half the games for the season. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of DP though, and it'll be more uncertainty with him and Nabby.

The concerning point about the first line is that it wasn't just this one game. They've been devolving to this point for a while now. They've been terrible in their own end and they haven't been scoring enough goals.

Neither of the wingers can connect on any passes anymore. Moulson had his stick in the air again and missed a gimme in the low slot, and Boyes missed at least two good chances.

Sounds great but don't expect Miller starting for the isles any time soon.

Dee,
Exactly how closely do you follow hockey? Have you not heard the story that apparently the problem in Buffalo may very well be the netminder. His actions in net after giving up goals, his blaming of others, he appears to be a clubhouse cancer, that is the last thing this team needs. We need a goalie who puts his own butt on the line, not blame others and act like a child.

The next 3 games will be the deciding factor is the Isles are buyers or sellers.

If it is still close... you guys won't be happy.

Streit, Vis, Boyes, Nabby, Reasoner, etc... will still be here after the trade deadline.

The fact that they are chasing the Rangers might change the mentality of some of the fans.

They may even add a player or two!!!

Miller needs a change of scenery!!!

Needs to keep quiet and play the game!!!

Plus we can't have Miller and Ruff on the same team...

They've become almost one dimensional in their attack...only JT can carry the puck in. Moulson's stickhandling makes Grabner look like Kovalev and Boyes keeps trying the men's league toe pull. And then when they dump it in, unless Tavares gets there, they might as well just pass it to the other teams defense behind their net. Teams know if they key on JT the other 2 aren't doing anything.

Yes, despite the horrible defense by the first line and the fact that JT scored the game winner. Against a better team that would have been another loss.

Funny, its not the highest paid team that wins, its the team that plays one system and with heartbeat.

If not, why are the Rags not #1 in the standings, wiht all of the other teams that pay to the cap. Love it when the underdogs do well.

This is where we run into problems. The old "system" and "heartbeat"
