Dan Spiegel: Has Jonathan Huberdeau Hit The Rookie Wall?

Rookie tied with the most points on the team with 20, he's probably tired of carrying the load for this team offensively. Playing on a team that's a league worst -38 on the goals to goals against ratio doesn't really help either. He's going to be good if they can surround the kid with some talent.

I wouldn't be worried. I'd be eager to see him grow if anything. You have a great young prospect who should be a solid top 3 guy in the future. Be patient and let him grow!

He will be fine. He will bounce back with another 5 or 6 goals. Kid has dangles in shoot outs too!

When Huberdeau does eventually run across the rookie wall, he'll probably just stickhandle around it.

Lets hope it continues tonight anyway. He's french so he won't be as dangerous as some of the other young ex-OHlers that come to the ACC

He's fine. This season is hectic for everyone, let alone an NHL first timer. He's just tired. Once we surround him with some talent, he will fall right back into place.

Why does Howden get to be on the Shore line and Huberdeau gets put on a line with Santorelli and Matthias?? Howden hasn't done anything to deserve to be on that line, Howden doesn't belong in the NHL.

Oh come on... he's played in 4 games and created more chances than anyone else out there. Everyone starts at 'A'.. they have to get to 'Z'. He will get there. Huby needed a little change and he got one- got an assist to boot.

Honestly I like the move to pair him with Matthias, he's prob playing the best hockey on the team right now. I don't know why Santorelli is on that line tho.. As for Howden, he definitely deserved to be moved up with Mueller and Shore, plus him and Shore have some chemistry from the AHL.

any word on when Petrovic is coming up? Possibly when they trade Kuba within the next week???

I agree, no harm in it as that line had faded into ineffectiveness so why not try out a new combo. With Skille out (concussion?) Santo at least has plenty of speed to match with Matthias and Huberdeau, so as much as I have no love for Santo, under the circumstances I do not have a problem with him on that line.

So you're saying if they want to trade him to a contender you don't think he'll waive it to go win a championship. You my friend are clueless.

Like I said I love the pairing of Huberdeau and Matthias and putting Mueller on that line was a smart move. I was waiting for Dineen to put Mueller with them, he is a perfect fit for that line. The were Dynamite tonight
