More than not being buyers at the deadline, they need to be sellers. Anything less than a 3-1-1 week should cause them to start actively selling off the UFAs and players that aren't have a good fit, such as Briere.

If they screw the dog this week and go 1-3-1 or even 2-2, then there's no reason not to get picks for Gagne & Fedotenko

With so many teams still in the playoff hunt, the Flyers have good pieces other teams would love to add for a playoff run.

I wouldn't sell everything. This is a talented team that hasn't played well and has been coached very poorly, IMO. You get a new coach and a return to form for the guys not doing well and you have a good team here.

Respectfully, Whether they "Screw the Dog" or not, I think we can all agree, there is some extraneous material afoot in that locker room that should certainly be SALE Fodder regardless of any short term/futile success: Briere for obvious reasons, Hartnell for some of the same, Timmo while there is still some value there. Gagne, Im on the fence about, as Bill Meltzer stated, if were receiving something really good that helps in the future, and we need the draft picks that badly, sure! otherwise, if the return isn't that great, re-sign him short term at far less $$$ and in doing so, not completely canabalize the veteran leadership group..

edit: Feds as well, but I think that is already a forgone conclusion...
Lavy, Good coach...... just not here. There is a tangible disconnect for sure between He, And the Players...

I, personally, would actively shop Briere(as he's not a good fit any longer), Gagne and Fedotenko(because they are UFA).

I'd listen to offers for Hartnell, Talbot, Coburn and Meszaros, but wouldn't be actively trying to ship them off. I'd be open to moving Timonen, except there's very little out there in FA to replace him.

I fully expect this team to be a playoff team next year, so I wouldn't go nuts in selling off pieces.

I agree, there is a good, young core to this team which should not be disturbed. I also think Talbot should not be moved unless the package is unbeatable. This might be the season to tinker with the few pieces that need work and be ready for next season.
