John, do you think a rostered player is going back the other way? If Bicks and Stals are both in the throes of being signed (or attempts to do so), it would seem likely to me we're talking about AHL players/picks going back the other way.
Makes no sense to launch Leddy -- not only with the way he's been playing -- but since he is an RFA, we still have control even if we can't get him signed we would get picks in return. |

Moen is one of the 3 right?! |

I can't see either team moving anything of real significance. I'm curious to see what player may be involved from both sides. |

A little off topic, but if Hossa is not going to be an offseason compliance buyout, do you think Sharp may be shopped in the offseason? The Hawks seem to be playing well without him, and as much as I like sharpie, I think another almost $6 mil contract would look good moving elsewhere. Sharpie traded and a compliance buyout of Olesz would free almost $9 mil in cap space. Opens up a spot on the second line wing for Stalberg, or Morin. |

Well White and Moen played 8 min and Weber and Kaberle don't dress. Not much to see. As for Pleks, who are the going to send back? |

I doubt the Hawks are looking for anything more than role/complimentary players. |

I know 2 of the 3 I would be interested in:
Eller
Tinordi
Pacioretty would be my ideal choice for the other forward to look at.
Honorable mentions:
Kristo
Emelin
For this I would say many of the icehogs would be made available and Sharp. Just a pipe dream though. If name have been mentionned in the past then Eller, Bourque, and Plekanec would be potential targets |

Well well well. Who said it first??
But in all seriousness, the signing of Desharnais and the fact that Eller is actually playing like a monster, make Plekanec available in my opinion.
But it will need to be a large return to get him out of Mtl before the deadline. And i can't see Chicago overpay for anything at this point. So if there is something major between the two teams, it will be in the summer.
As far as the return, i can think of Saad plus a pick or Sharp 1 vs 1. |

Why would Montreal not want NHL rostered players in return? They have hopes for this year. |

If they were to trade Pleks it's cause the trust Eller to do his job in the playoffs. Eller has not proven he can play in the playoffs yet. Eller's value is at his highest. His salarybis low and the Hawks need a low cap guy. Eller will go before Pleks. |

Could be Leddy (He is very very good but is a #5 D Man on this team)
Frolik
Sharp ?
I have no idea.
I would think a depth Center for AHLers / picks is what actuallly happens |

StL, I don't disagree -- if I were MTL, I would want an NHL player off the current roster. Can't believe Bergevin would go for AHL/Jr player or picks, not in the position they are in. No way he subtracts from his team now without something to fill the hole created. |

There is just about absolutely no chance that the Hawks pickup Plekanec's contract at $5M/year and actually trade a Sharp or Saad to get him. Sharp wouldn't waive his no trade clause to go play in Montreal where he would have the distinct honour of paying more taxes than anywhere else in the league.
Scotty Bowman's history is/was to pickup nearly finished veterans for playoff depth and spot duty. He was probably looking at Jochen Hescht to see if he was worth a 5th or 6th round pick. (Or maybe Tomas Kaberle to use as a practice dummy). |

I don't see any way he goes before season's end, if at all.
You ship Leddy off you are stuck with Brookbank & Rozy or Montador & Rozy.
Once/if that happens, you will once again see Seabrook's and Keith's TOI climb to what it's been in the past -- and given their combined performance this year, I don't think you want to do that.
One of the things having the "5" and "6" guys at 15+ (to sometimes 20) TOI per night is what allows all of these guys to perform better. Not just 2 & 7 but 4 & 27 as well (all 4 of those guys see plenty of TOI during PK). It's not just the physical aspect -- I think Keith and Hjalmarsson and Oduya and Seabs are more than capable of absorbing the minutes physically.
It's the mental aspect of the game -- the fatigue one gets from ALWAYS being under pressure -- that's what wears on a player in the course of a game and season.
Just don't see Leddy going anywhere until the season closes (and even then I highly doubt you ship him off).

It's not like Plekanec has ever been cluth in the playoffs neither...i don't want to move him at all cost but along with Bourque they are expendables for the right price. |
