Hopefully not the End, JoVo has been a "Real Man`s" Defenceman for a Long time, Starting to Miss the Prongers, JoVos, Lidstroms. Great D men who did whatever was needed of them,,, getting hard to find.

Thank God. I really hope he retires, he's a waste of 4 + million a year. It would actually be a blessing.

Hope maybe they can move Kuba too. Doubt it since he's another waste of 4 million a year.

I don't mean to sound insensitive but this guy was done a few years ago. People think Tallon is Mr. Savior but he's given these players horrible contracts.

15 million plus invested in Jovo, Kuba and Campbell combined and the funny thing is we have the WORST defense in the NHL. Great job Tallon!!

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Jerred Smithson is traded real soon. He's a UFA and a perfect 4th line rental for a team looking to add some depth at the deadline.

Only a schmuck would consider an injury to end a players career a "blessing". You're a real dirtbag.

The guy is making 4 million this year resting on his couch. How much are you making a year? Just shut up.

its a business. it means we will have more money to use on our rookies and FA. Great career, great grand wonderful. It's time to move on. It's not 1996 anymore. cry about it.

Just give us a 3rd rounder. Take his ridiculous contract. He's basically a forward that skates very well. He doesn't have a defensive bone in his body. He's soft, never fights and always get caught in the offensive zone. take him.

So yeah, you're a jackass. He signed an over 35 contract.. even if he retires, his cap counts against us. So, please stop pretending you know what you're talking about. Let the system play itself out. While his cap hit is a disgrace, rooting for him to retire because of injury is just sick. And stop haggling with the opposing fans on this site... any trade chips we had got hurt and are out for the rest of the season.

Man you seem like a miserable person, I come on here to talk and discuss things with other passionate fans and every time I do I see you just spewing your poison on this site. Nobody cares what you have to say anymore, you talk as if your the GM and in actuality you know almost as much as a 5 year old girl does. Please go some where else and feed them your garbage.

It has been a little sad to watch Jovoo as he is. He has become too slow and beat up to play his game effectively anymore, and the injuries this season in particular have prevented him from using the leadership skills he still has, or to continue training his protege Gudbranson. Gudbranson's favorite player growing up (according to him) was Jovo and I think it showed Guds something when they signed Jovo to this deal and have dealt with him with the patience they have. Hopefully that will translate into longer term loyalty from Guds.
The time has certainly come for Jovo. His play hurts the team and its time for him to relinquish his spot to one of the kids: Robak, Brennan, or Petrovic, whoever plays well enough to seize the opportunity. I hope that the rumors are true that an organizational role will be available to Jovo, he is one hell of a Panther.
