Maybe Huggy Bear should do shot outs! Everybody knows Leggy is going to try a back hander. You know the locker room was having fun with Clune after the game. |

Did I miss something?... I watched the entire game but never saw anything that warranted the kidney punch from Lehtonen on Mike Fisher, and the mugging that followed by Robidas. |

Lehtonen got knocked down just prior to all that but it was a result of his own guy shoving a Pred in to him. A lot of all that was frustration from blowing the last game and getting dusted last night..
Regarding Perry, as far as cheap and suspect hits goes, I thought that one was fairly mild, but he has the rep so you know he's going to sit a couple. Man, do I hope Poile makes a run at him. He is just what the Preds have desperately needed up front for years; size, a finisher and a mean streak! |

Major over reaction or frustration on Lehtonen's part. He should have been called for a penalty & the other bs would have never happened. Robidas has to get new teeth & the preds are lucky that Weber didn't get hurt. Butler got suckered punched. It really looked like Dillon pushed Fisher into Lehtonen & Fisher was trying to avoid hitting him. Fish stayed with the play till the wistle & then rearranged some teeth. This will be a fun series in the future!!! |

Lehtonen took a stick to the head from a Predator earlier in the game. No call on the play. Plus, he was getting beat 3-0. Then, Fisher got pushed into Lehtonen and Lehtonen took it out on Fisher. Pushed him into a Star. The Star to exception and cross-checked him multiple times. It looked to me like Fisher was genuinely pissed and you know what? That dude can fight!!! I also enjoy seeing Weber fight. He is down right scary. Glad to see the Preds get the W. Maybe having some of the top producing players out is what it takes for others to get motivated. Shouldn't take that. They're getting paid millions and with Rinne in net, they have a legitimate chance at a Cup if they can score 3 or more goals per game. That should be the "goal". Score one goal per period and you're likely to win the Cup. It's that simple. They just need to forget about setting up a scoring chance by making the perfect pass. Instead, give an individual effort to attack the net and shoot. Other players need to head for the net to pick up rebounds. I've played goalie before and it's absolutely true that any shot on net is a good shot on net and if not played correctly, can very easily result in a goal. Shoot the puck boys!!! |

I have never thought these teams liked each other much...but this could become a really good rivalry next year.

There seems to be a lot of talk that I have seen of people that want Perry on this team. I was one of those people until last night. I would rather have the foot-stomper instead |

We all know the Preds need a consistent scoring threat. That should be Poile's #1 job from now until the beginning of next season. But now, I'm thinking the next best addition to this team would be a true enforcer. Clune is showing some value as a scrappy forward - but not as a fighter.
If the Referees are going to continue to allow blatant cross-checks to go uncalled on the ice - then the players are going to have to police the ice themselves. The problem for the Preds...their best fighters last night are also key pieces on both offense & defense. Can't afford to lose Weber or Fisher to a game misconduct. No matter how warranted.
It stands to reason then, that the Preds need a real, honest-to-goodness mauler. That way, when an idiot like Nystrom picks on a kid like Ellis who is 6" shorter & 60 pounds lighter...he can be sure to have reservations for a little dance later in the evening with someone his own size.
When Pekka is on his game, the Preds can win a few without their top scoring threats by playing the high-energy style. But that only works if they can get to the hard areas without being injured. Having a big, strong nasty dude on the squad to inflict a bit of punishment on the other team would help with that. |

Both are 1st line talent which is desperately needed on this squad. Perry or Ryan would huge upgrades. Hell!!! DP is the GM, no more grinders is a step in the right direction. I think BT & Weber would pick Perry up at the airport if he was traded or a UFA signing. |

Just spoke to Danny Geoffrion, Blake's dad. He says Blake hasn't retired yet, but simply given notice to Canadiens that he's considering it. |

Hey guys, for those of you interested in prospects, who the heck is Jesper Fasth???
I saw a prospect analysis on twitter today via NHL Young Guns Daily (@YoungGunsDaily) that compared Fasth to Hornqvist. Is that a good comparison? How do you guys think he will do when he gets to The Blueshirts?
I've never heard of him but according to them he is an intriguing prospect. They also wrote about Austin Watson a few days ago and gave him a great report! |

Great insight piece. Thanks for the heads up.

It's a good read (Scott Burnside) - worth the time. - blueline
The Clunatic has really grown on me. His interviews are absolute gold. I love how he had no problem calling out Dallas in his interview on The Game yesterday. Hilarious, and probably bulletin board material for the Stars.
Maybe Clune is the droid we've been looking for after all. As long as he doesn't fight, he's pretty damn effective.

Some classic comments from Mr. Clune, that's for sure. It's a great listen.
I watched his brief post-game rink-side interview w/NHL network after the Stars game. It was hilarious, especially his exchange with Kevin Weekes. |

It's really refreshing to finally have a hockey player with some personality. His 2nd intermission interview was great as well.
I'm definitely becoming a Clunatic as well. |
