Clearly the Oilers players and management think differently about Horcoff. Don't look at the pay cheque he recieves, look at the outcome of the games when he plays and when he doesn't play. Your blind hatred for Horcoff is stupid. |

Horcs puuled the team together and we got a much needed Win to finish the trip. The boys played well overall and Hall was a beast, we just need to string a few wins together and we`re back in the show. LETS GO OILERS! |

Kinda agree with this.
While Horcoff isn't worth the money he is getting paid, it doesn't make him a bad player? While Edmonton sat on the lead yesterday, they at least got the lead and looked like a decent team again. I do think Horcoff still helps this team. He held a meeting before the game and it seemed to give some life the to players. We'll see what happens tomorrow in Colorado, but if they pull out another win....you have to wonder about the Horcoff factor.
He does many little things. I do agree with your assessment of Kruger though. He needs to not have the players protect a 1 or 2 goal lead. If they are firing on offense, keep going. And Yaks should get 2nd line minutes, 3rd line at worst...not 4th line minutes. They are going to screw up his confidence pretty soon. |

Purge all old boys club management types ASAP. New leadership with vision= success. Until this happens the struggle will continue. |

The real miracle was his last contract. - The-O-G
It was an act of desperation by Kevin Lowe. Everyone knows this story. UFA's wouldn't sign in Edmonton, so Lowe attempted to make an example of Horcoff by giving him a monstrous contract to show the rest of the league that the Oilers were willing to spend big bucks. The plan backfired horrendously. Not only did UFA's continue to avoid Edmonton, but Horcoff quit doing the things that got him the big contract in the first place.
And then, there was the attitude issue situation involving Horcoff, Souray, Smith, and Moreau...Oilers got rid of Souray, Smith and Moreau, but couldn't dump Horcoff due to his contract. Much of the fan base has selective amnesia about the attitude issues in the dressing room and Horcoff's involvement in the situation. |

Richard Cloutier: The Shawn Horcoff Miracle - Maxbone
I understand your frustration. I imagine it would be similar to paying Bozak that amount of money and giving him the "C"
I hate on Bozak enough as it is at 1.5 million a year. Can't even imagine my hatred at the amount Horcoff gets paid.
It's not either of their faults either. Both are decent NHL centerman but both are decent 3rd line centerman.
For now though the oilers are better with Horcoff in the lineup regardless of where he lays and with as bad as they've been all year, I'd just be happy he's back. |

There you go with the attitude theory again. Seems like the players all respect him to me. |

Well honestly the cap and buyout saved by bryz is hugh for philly gives them room to get pronger off books if he returns. Also luke schen does as much as shultz only real difference is simmonds more physical them hemsky but less talented and brayden schenn is an upgrade or belanger but not on faceoffs |

With the truth, something you seem to avoid.
The fact is the players like Horcoff, he's vocal in the locker room and a good teammate.
This came from someone that actually has been in the locker room and around the team. |

Agreed the third period was too much collapse and they barely squeaked it out - that game on most other nights is a late tying goal and we squeak out a point.
BUT! Sometimes you have to hand it to the best team in the NHL right now. It's as much a case of the Blackcocks imposing there will - not an easy thing to defend.

The problem with this trade is both teams have to agree on it. No way in hell Philly ever does this trade. |

We sat back early in the 2nd I found. This team simply can't protect a lead, need to just keep going. |
