I just read over the Flyer's board from during last night's game... I usually don't take much pleasure in others' misfortunes, but that was funny lol. |

Could watch this over and over. Sid versus 3 Flyers, starting out on his stomach with no stick, and ends up eventually moving the puck to Dupuis.

The last thing the Wild need is a non physical d-man. Seto has been playing well as of late and provides a spark on the PP. I'm sure Despres will be fine, but as of now, I too am glad this "rumored trade" never happened.
Pitt needs to trade for Iggy already and be done with it |

It's so easy to get caught up in the Sid bashing, but it's plays like this that make him one of the greats. |

I don't doubt it. I think this is a case where both teams won't regret hanging onto their respective players. |

The idea that Despres is a non-physical defenseman is completely off-base. He's not Shea Weber, but he's not soft by any means. He does use his 6'4 220lb frame quite a bit. |

He's no softy, but watching him reminds me a lot of Falk on the Wild, only with more upside. I'm not bashing him by any means, I just do not see how losing him for Seto improves your club and vice versa for the Wild |

It doesn't improve our club at all. And nothing against Seto, but if I'm moving our future top-1/2 defenseman, I want considerably more than him as a return (i.e. not that I want to trade Despres by any means, he's too important to our future blueline). |

Few thoughts on last night's game:
(1) Not sure who gave the locker room speech which could best be summed up as "Stay the %$#& out of the Penalty Box for God's sake!!!," but when you look at the Box Score its pretty clear what altered the balance of the game in the 2nd and 3rd periods. So simple and so effective.
(2) Bennett looks good with Geno and Neal. The Kid definitely looks like he has the capacity to play with elite talent. Not sure how he'll do come playoff time simply because he's a rookie, but he certainly looks like he has a spot in the Pens Top-6 for the foreseeable future.
(3) I understand scratching Despres for the Flyers game last night, as the kid hasn't quite learned what he can get away with in the NHL and what gets him 2 minutes & penalties kill the Pens v. the Flyers, but it still sucks to see him in the press box.
(4) Vitale would have helped in the FO circle. Just sayin'.
(5) Eaton looks good. Quality depth signing by Shero at no cost to the Pens. |

Not following the script. We aren't talking about last night's game. We have moved onto Seto for Despres again.

Haha. I completely understand, but I think i'll dwell on last night's W for a while longer...
Also, w/ the play of Bennett I think they Pens should focus more on a 3rd-liner or big, physical Dman than any more scoring. Top-6 looks good right now. |

Random thought...
I was watching the game on Root Sports last night which is the Pens feed for those who don't know.... and during the first intermission Dan Potash interviewed Max Talbot.
Makes me wonder if that was planned all along or if Bylsma told him "You're not getting any of our players... I need to have a few words with them"...... Just seemed really odd to get an opposing player for an in game interview unless if was pre-recorded of course but I don't think it was. |
