I thought Van was imposing there will most of the game like how Sharks played against the Canucks earlier in the year. The Sharks really relied on the counter attack more then pushing the pace. Sharks with 20 blocked shots, 9 for Van. 58 shots directed toward Niemi. The shorty goal and the broken play by Gomez were unfortunate from a Canuck perspective. The Canucks seemed to dominate 5 on 5 with puck control and posession in stretches I found, evident on both there goals. Puck battles, cross crease setups, posts etc.. There finish could of been better for some tap in instances. Sharks PK was awesome. Goalie solid. The Sharks played great defense, it got them to the shootout where they could earn the extra point. A wins a win even in a shootout, a good road win against a desperate now slumping Canucks that are playing better but still not earning 2 points consistently.

3-0-1 in our last 4, not too shabby. A much needed run after losing 9 of 10. Believe it or not, if we were to take our current record and expand it accross an 82 game schedule, we'd be an 100+ point team.

As we approach the midway point of the season the entire Pacific Division is in the Top 8 to make the playoffs in the West. Toughest division in hockey and the Sharks are still on pace to make it to the post season for the 9th season in a row and and 14 out of the last 15 seasons.
