Kessel for Perry? - Holy_Makinaw99
Yeah, why don't we throw in Getzlaf and the goalie of your choice while we're at it. We really want a soft doughy winger. I mean, I'm hungry! |

What if you guys cant resign Perry? You will have to trade him, gotta think Kessel may be a decent return. |

Kessel for Perry? - Holy_Makinaw99
You'll be lucky to get a 5th or 6th round pick for him these days. |

Put down the crack pipe or stop drinking that Kool-Aid. Not gonna happen. Even if it did we'd get a lot more than Kessel for him. Even throwing half the team in isn't enough. Toronto, where players go to end their career. |

Interesting that a 25 year old coming off an 82 point season, or last seasons 6th leading point getter isn't good enough to get a pending ufa who had 60 points last season in your eyes. Well, we're all entitled to our opinions I guess. Cheers mate. |

You must be talking about John Michael Liles here. You're probably right. |

Conversely, why would you want to trade the 6th leading point getter for a 60 pt. UFA player?
Personally, I don't have too much of a problem with that trade IF it looks like Perry wants to leave. But I don't know about the Carlyle factor. A LOT of the Ducks players weren't too upset when he was let go. I don't know if Perry was one of them. |

Is Fasth playing tonight? Not sure whether I should play him @PHO or Quick @VAN |

I wouldn't trade Kessel, it just surprised me a little the response one leaf poster got. I love Perry, but the reason you point out would to me, make me feel there isn't a deal there to be made, quite different then what your fellow poster inferred. |

I miss your visits to our threads btw, you always seem to bring us good news Though I'm glad Beauchemin is doing great there, he always did what was asked of him as a Leaf. |

More than likely. Never can tell until the last minute with Gabby though. |

Quick only has to face one offensive line today. The rest are basically checking lines. |

No real news for a long time so the guys I know didn't have much to say. No one has been told anything about the Perry negotiations while there is all kinds of info about Getzlaf. I don't know if that's a good thing. Once we get to the trade deadline I'm sure I'll start hearing something. I wouldn't hold your breath about Getz, though. His wife does NOT want to leave Socal. Perry is another matter. What with Ryan O'Reilly making $6.5 mil next year, the Ducks will probably have to max out Perry and I don't know if they can afford it. |

Yeah, definitely didnt help me to play Fasth.
I need Niemi to give up 5 goals tonight and get pulled in the second so I can win the other two goalie stats. |

Im here in Toronto, so my ears on Anaheim rumors isnt great, but from the Anaheim sports blogs ive read (written by people in ANA) I agree with you that Getz is there to stay. He just built a new house there, his wife is from there, and he seems happy and would want to stay (maybe even take a discount?). The news on Perry seems to sound different though: bachelor, restless, and quiet. Will be interesting to see what transpires come April 3rd. |

Ducks can afford both, no problem. Murray has made sure of that. The problem is if Perry does not want to be there. I've heard rumblings that he wants to move closer to home. Which means signing somewhere in the North East like Buffalo or Toronto.
I always thought that if Getz re-signed then Perry would follow suit. I don't know if that's the case any more. |
