Flyers need to score 3 goals today, and they stand an excellent chance of winning. But this also one of those teams that are very tight checking, that the Flyers seem to struggle with. The Flyers are going to have to fight for every inch of ice. Keep the game simple and get the puck deep. Ottawa struggles to score, so make them do the same. Limit turnovers and penalties.

I'm just hoping we don't get there usual daytime "when does the game start?" first-period performance.

Exactly, if anyone is up for an early start its Ottawa, not an easy game by any means. The kids play the system with confidence and throwing them off will be no easy task.

Be nice if Philly could pry Mark Fraser from the leafs for Blake Kessel and a pick.

If they get off to another slow start, I am looking for change and in Lavy's direction.

I just want them to get to .500. This game scares the hell out of me. The names on ottawas roster will not get the flyers juices going that's for sure

Adding Fraser would be huge and offering up Blake is a huge chip for Leafs to resign Phil at an affordable contract...win win.

Fraser is a decent defenseman, but he's not really the type of defenseman the Flyers need. Also I don't see Toronto adding Blake Kessel affecting Phil Kessle's asking price. There's no guarantee Blake ever plays in the NHL.

Fraser is having a real nice season and playing his role very well. However, a) the Flyers already have two big-bodied defensive D-men. Fraser doesn't really suit their current needs; b) family ties aside, Blake is a borderline ECHL/AHL defenseman at this point of his career, plus he's an RFA after this season and I don't think the Flyers are going to give him a qualifying offer. Toronto could just sign him for the Marlies if they so desire; c) not sure why Toronto would trade an effective but inexpensive role playing D from their NHL roster for a draft pick (what round?) and Kessel.

On paper it is. Play a smart game, match Ottawa's work ethic. Because I guarantee Ottawa is going to play a hard sound game. And the Flyers overwhelming talent advantage should take over. If the Flyers bring the lunch pail to the rink. Not an automatic, I know. But that's how I see it.

Gonna need to win the old fashioned way today...work hard!

There is no excuse not to come away with a win today. The Flyers are well rested and the more talented team. The only way they lose is if they get outworked and it is up to them to prevent it.

This game will tell us something about this team. Not only do they have yet another shot to reach .500, but as they are, for once, not coming off back to back games or playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, there is no excuse whatsoever not to do so!

Bryz needs to play well and ALL 18 skaters need to get their butts in gear and work hard and they will skate off with 2 pts. Now get it done!!

Given the early game time, I have doubts it'll work out this way. I just hope they shake off the 'afternoon game lag' early enough. They always seem to wake up at some point in these games, the question is will it be early enough to still have a shot at winning?
