The Sharks have now scored 2 goals or fewer in 13 of their last 14 games.

I am not one to make rash decisions. But when you lose 10 of your last 12, I don't think it's premature to at least consider firing your head coach.

They are getting chances but the puck just isnt going in. Its on the players to score not the coach. Hockey isnt like football where the coach calls the plays, its improvisational. Again, its on the players to score not the coach.

Changing coahes mid seaon is a tactic that rarely works. (Blues last year being an exception). Recent examples, how has Bufalo done since firing Ruff? sometihng like 1-4 with a grand toatal of like 6 goals in that span? (made those numbers up but probably fairly accurate.) Then look at Washington Capitals, fired Boudrue mid season and continued to suck last year and this year. Now Boudrue is with the Ducks and they are winning.

My Point is, fire McLellan after the season not mid season. The players are the ones who need to score or wilson has to ship out onof the top 6 before the trade deadline

Anaheim fires Carlyle and hires Boudreau last season, Boudreau did a pretty good job turning Anaheim around and they are doing damn good now. Then Toronto fires Ron Wilson and acquires Carlyle and, while they didnt exactly turn it around last season, they're in good shape now. I think you can make the argument that firing a coach mid-season is, sometimes, a good move. But I would say Sharks need a roster shake-up more than anything else.

I think you are leaving out a lot of mid season changes that have worked for the regular season. http://www.sbnation.com/2...96/head-coach-fired-stats has some watered down stats on it.

Bottom line is the Sharks are not playing well the coach makes the game plan and none of the plans are really working well. A lot of the chances have been very low % shots I honestly don't think the sharks have had a ton of great chances on net. Some players need to be changed too...but Tmac is a key piece of what I think isn't really right with the sharks. Head coaches for professional sports have a shelf life before the team stops responding to that coach. Its time for a change Tmac had his shot and he did his best.

Trade Clowe for offense, would be the best case scenario IMO.

Then who replaces Clowe's offense?
