Has he lost his love of the game?
Does he still see himself as an elite player?
Did all that time in Russia, the statements about him possibly staying there, mean he maybe doesn't want to play in the NHL?

All of the Caps looked Disinterested... I don't think it's a single player thing. I just think they were tired and got beat up. Kinda like Philly's been playing so many back to back tough games. AO's been playing better hockey up to this point. This is not a good year to evaluate players, or teams. All the games are too packed and mean too much. It's like 5 months of playoffs.... you'd think it'd be fun to watch, but it's tough to bring it every night.

Let's revisit this conversation when we have a regular season where games aren't so compacted the players can't see straight. There's nothing Milbury said about Ovechkin that can't be said about numerous players in the league.

While it's true that numerous players aren't making Ovechkin money, the fact is he's human, and his team was being destroyed. I turned to that game briefly in the third period and saw some really good play from Ovechkin, so it's not like the guy just quit. Milbury cherry-picked video and went on a rant. Kinda like Jones did to Radulov last year.

That was absolutely embarrassing....especially after his hatrick the other night. Guess he thinks that's all he needs to do for the year.

Mike Milbury beat a fan with his own shoe, and threatened a 12 year old kid at a charity hockey game. I will take anything he says on the subject of "be(ing) a man" with a grain of salt.

Pavel Bure's career went down a similar path...albeit it was more injury driven, as a Florida Panther and Ranger he never had any fire whatsoever....

he's also responsible for 2 of the worst trades in NHL history, and single handedly setting the islanders franchise back probably 15 years. the guy has as much off ice hockey IQ as the coffee cup sitting on my desk.

if OV is ever traded, he will become Islanders property...with the team moving to BK (huge Russian population there) and a few Russian prospects in the system, it would be a no-brainer for isles to go all in on him.

I'd like to see a similar video of someone breaking down Milbury's moves as a GM.

Milbury was right on the money. Ovechkin has played soft, the last 3 years. He's too busy making rap video's, screwing tennis stars and making commercials. He's a coach killer and if Washington is smart, they move this guy, while he's still got value.

He could, however, regain allot of his pizazz, if he's moved to a large market team, that's in contention. He needs the spotlight, to shine. Washington is a place where good players go to have their careers die. Remember Jagr?
